Peace Parks Foundation (PPF) is a non-profit company established to facilitate the establishment and development of Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) in southern Africa. PPF in partnership with Conservation International is implementing a Herding for Health (H4H) project in the Massingir District of the Limpopo National Park. The H4H Programme is a beef value chain development project that facilitates wildlife-livestock coexistence and rural development. The project recruit and train professional herders from target communities who then implement planned grazing of livestock and assist with rangeland restoration through herding and kraaling, wildlife-livestock contact mitigation, management of primary animal health and production, as well as market access development.<\/p>\n

Reporting and Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Herding for Health Project Manager (H4H PM) will report to the Director Herding for Health Southern Africa. It will be a PPF post and the H4H PM will receive strategic guidance and some line management from the PPF Project Manager, Limpopo National Park.\u00a0 The H4H PM will work with selected villages in the Massingir District that are either inside the Park, the Buffer Zone outside the Park, or near Massingir village. Some spatial expansion to neighbouring districts may have to be supported. The H4H PM will oversee H4H implementation, which involves herding and kraaling interventions with livestock, community engagement, stakeholder management, project, staff and financial management, as well as spatial planning. Training will be provided by the Project where needed.<\/p>\n
