ELRU seeks to build on existing knowledge and skills, promote and provide access to knowledge and skills, affirm and harness the potential of diversity and support those working with young children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\">All-inclusive salary package negotiable on experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare the cashbook, trial balance, income statement &amp; balance sheet<\/li>\n<li>Compile a full set of monthly financial accounts for the finance committee; prepare quarterly financial accounts for board meetings and financial information for the AGM and Annual Report<\/li>\n<li>Financial reports to funders, management, staff and Board<\/li>\n<li>Review funder agreements and meet funder financial reporting requirements<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and maintain the annual organisational budget, monitor actual expenditure vs. approved budget and produce monthly variance reports for various programmes<\/li>\n<li>Amend and update financial policies<\/li>\n<li>Perform activity based costing and support the Director and the Fundraising team with all financial aspects for grant proposals including donor liaison, receipt of grants and distribution of S18A certificates<\/li>\n<li>Perform bi-annual internal audits and manage the annual external audit process<\/li>\n<li>Administer effective cash flow of bank accounts and ensure the best return on investment of funds<\/li>\n<li>Ensure statutory compliance in terms of the legislative framework and implement internal controls to ensure adherence to financial policies, processes and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Administer procurement including vendor database administration<\/li>\n<li>Payroll administration<\/li>\n<li>Complete and submit monthly Tax, UIF and VAT returns to SARS and file the Annual Tax &amp; Workman\u2019s Compensation Returns<\/li>\n<li>Ensure payment of royalty fees, insurance premium and process insurance claims<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and manage staff within the Finance Department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A relevant Finance related qualification<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in developing and maintaining budgets, bookkeeping, payroll and financial administration<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience implementing financial policies and procedures, conducting internal audits and preparing for external audits<\/li>\n<li>Practical working knowledge of VIP, QuickBooks and Pastel<\/li>\n<li>Advanced computer literacy in MS Office specifically Excel<\/li>\n<li>Working experience in an NGO environment and a valid code 8 driver\u2019s licence is an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Closing date:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday, 03 December 2018<\/p>\n<p>To apply, please submit your CV outlining a detailed description of duties, the names of at least two contactable professional references, copies of your qualifications, driver\u2019s license and identity document to<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:karen@elru.co.za\"><strong>karen@elru.co.za\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>clearly indicating the job title as the subject.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not been contacted within 30 days of the closing date please consider your application as unsuccessful.
