In providing holistic support, we stimulate healthy emotional, social and academic development, and build capacity to lead productive lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Bookkeeper<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> January 2019<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Bookkeeper is to need to maintain the organisation\u2019s financial records, including payments, receipts, petty cash disbursements and payroll.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process<\/li>\n<li>Review postings to the GL for accuracy and timeliness<\/li>\n<li>Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records<\/li>\n<li>Track and reconcile bank statements<\/li>\n<li>Bring the books to the trial balance stage<\/li>\n<li>Complete tax forms, e.g. VAT201, EMP201, EMP501<\/li>\n<li>Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets<\/li>\n<li>Prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs<\/li>\n<li>Support monthly payroll and keep organized records<\/li>\n<li>Participate in annual audits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven bookkeeping experience<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable\/receivable principles<\/li>\n<li>Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records<\/li>\n<li>Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English<\/li>\n<li>Computer Literacy: Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or Pastel)<\/li>\n<li>Degree of accuracy and attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Organisational and time-management skills<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to spot numerical errors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your comprehensive CV and motivational letter to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jobs@yabonga.com\">jobs@yabonga.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Should you not hear from us, you may consider your application unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>14th December, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yabonga Children&#8217;s Project is a Cape Town-based non-governmental organisation supporting people living with HIV.
