All of its 750 students are transported from 20 impoverished communities using 18 school busses for the daily return trips. The school has a holistic R-12 education model that focuses on strong character development, complemented by regular health care, nutritious meals, guidance counselling, career planning, family assistance and college and careers support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Grant Writer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Ottery, Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> Part-time, contract basis.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research and identify potential local and international corporates, trusts, foundations and governmental prospects to meet CHSA\u2019s operational, project and capital requirements (education, poverty alleviation, student scholarships, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Match CHSA\u2019s project proposals to suitable Corporate Social Investment prospects<\/li>\n<li>Write and submit fundraising proposals to current donors and new prospects<\/li>\n<li>Track submission deadlines for proposals and project reports of successful grants<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate, effective and timeous record-keeping and submission of project reports<\/li>\n<li>Action effective donor-stewardship including on-site and off-site visits, writing thank-you letters, submitting timeous project updates, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Regular communication with staff to ensure that new project and programme developments are captured into funding proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Compile and submit in-kind donation and discount requests to suppliers, corporates and local businesses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant tertiary qualification in areas such as Development Studies, Journalism, Social Sciences, Media or Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years\u2019 experience in grant-writing, corporate social investment or fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in the education or poverty alleviation industry will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Passion for education and youth development, with a mission-driven work ethic and a positive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and local and international donor landscape<\/li>\n<li>Written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work against budgeted targets and within strict deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills (Microsoft Office package)<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in written and spoken English essential, fluency in additional language(s) advantageous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV (maximum five pages) with three contactable referees and a motivation letter for attention of the Director of Fundraising and Marketing to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:lmostert@sa.christelhouse.org\">lmostert@sa.christelhouse.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>30th November, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christel House is a registered, global charity that operates eight schools around the world of which the school in Ottery (Cape Town, South Africa) is the only one in Africa&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
