Working with our Direct Mail agency and other third-party providers the incumbent will lead on shifting the focus of SCSA from acquisition to long-term engagement and life-time-value.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Supporter Development Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:\u00a0<\/strong>Fundraising and Communications Director<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting:\u00a0<\/strong>Supporter Care Officer<br \/>\n<strong>Child Protection Level:\u00a0<\/strong>2<br \/>\n<strong>Travel Requirements:\u00a0<\/strong>25% local and international<br \/>\n<strong>Budget Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong>R 2 mil.<br \/>\n<strong>Asset Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong>N\/A<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the relationship and service provision from Downes Murray International, our direct mail agency<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the calendar for all supporter communications and make sure production and distribution deadlines are hit<\/li>\n<li>Work with the outsource database manager to ensure new reports are developed as required and data-driven insights can be gained and decisions made<\/li>\n<li>Manage the Supporter Care Officer in their daily activities to all communications and reports are being processed<\/li>\n<li>Ensure digital tools communications platforms and continued and relationships are upheld<\/li>\n<li>Implement and oversee a part-time upgrade and reactivation telemarketing team based in the Pretoria office<\/li>\n<li>Engage with the global donor development community and represent Save the Children South Africa in global forums as required<\/li>\n<li>Ensure reports are being produced that accurately represent the efficiency of fundraising tests and campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Track and manage income and expenditure reports to ensure budgets are being maximized but not exceeded<\/li>\n<li>Undertake formal and informal peer and market research to ensure Save the Children South Africa has the best intelligence available to make strategic decisions<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement direct marketing tests to improve loyalty and engagement among our supporters<\/li>\n<li>Complete any other tasks, and follow legal instructions from line manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Professional Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years of experience managing a fundraising program, marketing campaign, or similar<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience managing external suppliers that must deliver on financial KPIs<\/li>\n<li>Previous fundraising role an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>A proven track record of success in a driven and fast-paced marketing or sales environment is a must<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable experience in testing and scaling up fundraising or marketing campaigns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High level of financial literacy<\/li>\n<li>Competent in MS office suite including data and financial analysis in Excel<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively record and document all operational aspects of national campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Financial forecasting and scenario planning skills<\/li>\n<li>Capable of motivating and engaging external service providers and their teams<\/li>\n<li>Experience with digital and traditional marketing tools and techniques<\/li>\n<li>Excellent management skills<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English with additional language desirable<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of current best practices in fundraising<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Highly developed interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Solutions focused<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with high levels of ambiguity<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurial drive<\/li>\n<li>Results oriented<\/li>\n<li>Ability to complete projects and move on to next initiative<\/li>\n<li>Passion and commitment to Save the Children\u2019s values and mission<\/li>\n<li>High attention to detail and quality<\/li>\n<li>Ability to juggle multiple campaigns, prioritize effectively and work under pressure and reach tight deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Excellent influencing, leadership and mentoring skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested qualified candidates are requested to submit their resumes (covering letter and CV) to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:MMcternan@savethechildren.org.za\">MMcternan@savethechildren.org.za<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>26 November 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supporter Development Manager will lead the efforts of the fundraising team to build greater levels of engagement and loyalty from our existing and new supporters.
