It seeks to spark and embed a culture of reading across South Africa, so that reading, writing, and sharing stories \u2013 in all South African languages \u2013 is part of everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>Children who are surrounded by print and immersed in great and well-told stories \u2013 in languages they understand \u2013 are more curious, confident and motivated to learn. They develop vocabulary, strengthen memory, and nurture imagination. They\u2019re more likely to become readers themselves, and to do well in school across all subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2012, Nal\u2019ibali has worked with state, civil society and business partners to make sure every South African child has opportunities to fall in love with books and stories. This includes founding partners\u00a0DGMT, PRAESA (the Project for the Study of Alternative Education in South Africa) and Tiso Blackstar (formerly Times Media). Through advocacy, training, and high-quality reading material, Nal\u2019ibali is helping to nurture a reading nation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Master Trainer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the Training Manager in the execution of the training and mentorship strategy for Nal\u2019ibali as per strategic direction of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Activate and coordinate training cycle phases (pre-during-post training activities) according to scheduled training logs from internal departments (administrators) and external interested parties.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and coordinate pre-training\/mentorship sessions, including necessary training material and logistics, with provincial support coordinators (and partners) as guided by the Training Manager<\/li>\n<li>Assemble Training team combinations for training events as guided by the Training Manager for scheduled (internal) and responsive (external) training events.<\/li>\n<li>Fulfil full training facilitation role at selected training sessions and special projects as guided by the Training manager<\/li>\n<li>Assist and contribute to curriculum design, development and orientation processes as guided by the Training Manager<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate, facilitate and guide interactive learning at own LM spaces designed to improve literacy practice (reading and story play clubs \u2013 including media platforms)<\/li>\n<li>Conduct preliminary analysis of training\/mentorship evaluations\/reflections\/feedback and share key recommendations with Training Manager for further consideration and action<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and track training programme activities, to handle any issues arising, including escalating these to the training manager<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training reflective platform discussions across social media platforms, working with the communication Team.<\/li>\n<li>Drive supplement activation process through the scheduled authoring of the supplement spark guide, including tracking supplement usage trends emerging from data collected.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and respond to on-site mentorship requests from both internal departments and external partners. \u2022 Maintaining and integration of plans, schedules and resources, working with other programme departments to ensure administrative synergy.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure record keeping as prescribed by the Training manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Related tertiary qualification a necessity, particularly in the fields of education, project management, and\/or social development.<\/li>\n<li>Speak more than one South African languages; fluency in English, Sesotho, Sepedi, Setswana and\/or Xitsonga strongly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Proven work experience as Training coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Track record in facilitation of successful training programs<\/li>\n<li>Track record in coordinating diverse training teams<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with training cycle activities<\/li>\n<li>Have valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel<\/li>\n<li>Facilitation, presentation, coaching and mentorship skills.<\/li>\n<li>Communication and Leadership skills.<\/li>\n<li>Multi-tasking and Time-management skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should you meet the above requirements, please email your motivational letter and CV to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:work@nalibali.org\"><strong>work@nalibali.org<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>with your name and surname, position title on the subject line, (e.g. Joe Soap: MT)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Closing date: <\/strong>21 December 2018<\/p>\n<p>Please note that feedback will be provided to shortlisted candidates only.<\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-location field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-inline clearfix\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nal\u2019ibali (isiXhosa for \u201chere\u2019s the story\u201d) is a national reading-for-enjoyment campaign.
