{"id":43876,"date":"2018-12-05T10:40:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T08:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=43876"},"modified":"2018-12-04T14:44:45","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T12:44:45","slug":"sanccob-table-view-centre-new-job-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sanccob-table-view-centre-new-job-opening.html","title":{"rendered":"SANCCOB Table View Centre New Job Opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SANCCOB Table View centre in Cape Town seeks an Education Supervisor to manage the organisation\u2019s education department, which includes overseeing pop-up shops, educational exhibitions, engaging public tours and to maintain development of the volunteer programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Education Supervisor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer quality educational programmes for both children and adults.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and conduct interactive public tours of the SANCCOB facility. Train education staff and volunteers to assist with tours.<\/li>\n<li>Develop new programmes, learning material and activities that are in line with SANCCOB\u2019s mission.<\/li>\n<li>Grow educational income by identifying new funding opportunities and assisting the Resource Development Manager to write applications.<\/li>\n<li>Network with personnel in the field of environmental education at other environmental education institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Education Staff<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide leadership to the education team, guiding them towards methods of best teaching practice and professional conduct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Administrative functions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the preparation of the education department\u2019s annual budget and manage it effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Manage inventories of all the education department equipment and ensure that systems are in place to take care of all the equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Produce monthly reports and statistics.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate all logistical arrangements for the programmes according to programme specifications (bus, lunch, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Prepare programme budgets, demographic information and assist with donor report-backs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Curio Shop and online shop<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow the shop income both on-site and on-line by sourcing cost-effective and desirable merchandise.<\/li>\n<li>Manage stock control.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the point of sale system (Vend).<\/li>\n<li>Provide pop-up shops at schools, markets and festivals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Simon\u2019s Town Penguin Festival<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with SANCCOB staff and external partners to\u00a0coordinate the annual Simon\u2019s Town Penguin Festival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Volunteer Programme<\/p>\n<p>Oversee the running of the SANCCOB volunteer programme including the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure sufficient volunteers are available and utilised effectively to support SANCCOB\u2019s capacity requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure volunteers are managed effectively and enjoy their volunteering time at SANCCOB.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the development and growth of the volunteer programme.<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership and guidance to the Volunteer Coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful candidate will be required to complete the necessary bird training for ambassador bird handling.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong people management and development skills with the ability to motivate and lead employees.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to do so in more than one language would be advantageous).<\/li>\n<li>Strong programme development skills.<\/li>\n<li>Planning capabilities and the ability to work against strict deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Passion for wildlife conservation and preservation.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to problem-solve.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work on weekends.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years\u2019 working experience.<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).<\/li>\n<li>Valid Code 8 driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications from South African residents are invited<\/p>\n<p>Please send your CV (max. 3 pages) with contactable referees and a letter of motivation for attention of the Business Manager at<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:natalie@sanccob.co.za\">natalie@sanccob.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Management will not accept telephonic applications and will only correspond with applicants chosen for interviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>18th December, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANCCOB Table View centre in Cape Town seeks an Education Supervisor to manage the organisation\u2019s education department, which includes overseeing pop-up shops, educational exhibitions, engaging public tours and to maintain&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[48,940],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
