IRJ is\u00a0an independent organisation located at the interface between civil society and academia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Communications &amp; Advocacy Intern<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 11 months (15th January \u2013 15th December 2019)<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> Monthly stipend of R5\u00a0500<br \/>\n<strong>Working hours:<\/strong> 36 hours\/week<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Communications Intern is to assist the Communications and Advocacy team with internal communications, media monitoring, online profiling of the Institute and monitoring and evaluation, as well as ad hoc tasks that may arise, including events management.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with content for the organisational newsletter<\/li>\n<li>Update and report on IJR \u2018news and events\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Assist with marketing and branding<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of online campaigns and messages<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media monitoring and produce media clippings<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media research and Google analytics<\/li>\n<li>Assist with website and social media updates<\/li>\n<li>Assist with media relations<\/li>\n<li>Assist with adhoc programme and administration tasks<\/li>\n<li>Assist with event planning and logistics<\/li>\n<li>Work across the spectrum of communication tasks which will include social media marketing, media relations media tracking\/monitoring, photography, website management and events management among others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma, BA in Marketing, Communications or Journalism<\/li>\n<li>Writing skills in English and preferably another South African language<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy: Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the usage of social media for organisations<\/li>\n<li>Decision-making and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Confidence<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Creative and pro-active<\/li>\n<li>Responsible and accountable<\/li>\n<li>Organisational and time-management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn new things<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV with a minimum of two references, a motivational letter and written sample of your work (published article, blog entry \u2013 not academic) to Ms. Elisha Kotze, Operations Manager: email address,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:ekotze@ijr.org.za\">ekotze@ijr.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only applications with\u00a0ALL\u00a0the required documentation will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a07th December, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) was founded in 2000, in the wake of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and with the purpose of building of fair, democratic and&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[326],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
