The successful applicant will assist with planning and facilitation of the Social Activities programme and running of our activities centre (Lifestyle Centre).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Activities Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aim:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To maintain a warm and inviting environment for residents and visitors through functioning as a hostess to the Lifestyle Centre<\/li>\n<li>To plan, manage and facilitate a regular program of events within the Lifestyle Centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsible to:\u00a0<\/strong>Senior Occupational Therapist<br \/>\n<strong>Accountable to:\u00a0<\/strong>Deputy Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan, coordinate and facilitate appropriate activities which incorporate the interests and needs of residents using group activities and events<\/li>\n<li>Plan and facilitate special events around the Jewish and South African calendar<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with performers, volunteers and members of the community regarding activities that are planned or proposed<\/li>\n<li>Maintain administrative procedures and logistics of the Lifestyle Centre and activity programme<\/li>\n<li>Participate in weekly Departmental Meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant qualification or demonstrated experience in a related field<\/li>\n<li>Experience and passion for working with the elderly<\/li>\n<li>Excellent ability to communicate in English<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with individual and small groups<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and within a team<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Advantageous<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working within a residential setting with the elderly<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of Jewish customs and festivals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a CV and motivation letter along with two contactable references to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:yolanda@highlandshouse.co.za\">yolanda@highlandshouse.co.za<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>14th December, 2018<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Highlands House, a long term care facility for Jewish elderly residents, is looking for an applicant to run our Lifestyle Centre and Activities Coordinator for 6 months while the current&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1350,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
