{"id":44147,"date":"2019-01-08T12:36:46","date_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=44147"},"modified":"2019-01-08T12:51:44","modified_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:51:44","slug":"right2know-new-job-opening-apply-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/right2know-new-job-opening-apply-now.html","title":{"rendered":"Right2Know New Job Opening &#8211; Apply Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Right2Know Campaign (R2K) is looking for an experienced Deputy National Coordinator support efficient and effective campaigning efforts and ensure R2K continues to grow as a vibrant democratic Campaign.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to work with committed activists around the country to support popular campaigns that have a real impact on the challenges facing South Africa at this critical period in our democracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Deputy National Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization\u2019s\u00a0programmatic work;<\/li>\n<li>Work with R2K staff and leaders to maintain effective participatory decision-making processes characterized by transparency and accountability to\u00a0ensure R2K is a vibrant democratic activist Campaign;<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the development of Campaign leadership;<\/li>\n<li>Support the Campaign to take steps to combat patriarchy, racism and other discrimination and promote equality;<\/li>\n<li>Review and maintain R2K\u2019s information management and communications to ensure the Campaign\u2019s work is well communicated and documented;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective popular education and campaigning materials are developed and used effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, maintain, and review R2K\u2019s relevant operational policies and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare funding proposals\/reports\u00a0and cultivate relationships with donors;<\/li>\n<li>Manage the Campaign\u2019s advocacy staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 3 years proven experience in a comparable position in the non-profit field;<\/li>\n<li>A relevant tertiary qualification;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in democratic activists spaces and commitment to the democratic principles of the R2K Campaign;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of non-profit governance and general management best practice;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in developing and evaluating strategic and operational plans;<\/li>\n<li>Understand performance management principles and maintain good working relationships with staff and volunteer activists in flexible team environments;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written\/verbal communication skills essential, with multilingualism being an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to self-manage and multi-task, pay attention to detail, planning, organising and time management;<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills essential (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet);<\/li>\n<li>A \u00a0driver\u2019s licence would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Right2Know is offering the opportunity to have a real impact on the challenges facing South Africa from within a dynamic environment and supportive team.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be based at our National Office in Salt River, Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>To apply please \u00a0upload a CV with contactable references and a cover letter outlining how you meet the requirements listed above using this form:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/vMORTDek7UVpaNms1\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/vMORTDek7UVpaNms1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Applications close at 12h00 on <strong>Thursday 10 January 2019<\/strong>.
