This includes designing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns, managing public and media outreach, and enhancing the project\u2019s public profile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communication Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Pretoria<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate should have outstanding written, visual and verbal communication skills as well as experience in digital communication and new technologies. The position requires an organised, motivated and flexible multi-tasker who can handle a range of deadline-driven tasks at short notice. The successful candidate will report to the ENACT Programme Head.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About ENACT\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ENACT is an EU-funded programme that aims to build skills and knowledge to enhance Africa\u2019s response to transnational organised crime. See\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.enactafrica.org\/\">www.enactafrica.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communications quality assurance \u2013\u00a0ensure project deliverables adhere to ENACT, EU and ISS policies and guidelines and provide final sign-off on all outputs related to communication and visibility<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate or produce various written and multimedia content, including press releases, results stories, infographics, videos and photography<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the editing of ENACT online Observer articles and Trend Reports<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the publications process for ENACT publications from start to finish<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the project\u2019s communication budget and expenditure in accordance with donor agreements and ISS policy<\/li>\n<li>Commission and oversee the use of external service providers, including editors and designers<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement internal and external communication plans for events and publication launches<\/li>\n<li>Manage and supervise ENACT\u2019s Digital Communication Officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Communication or Journalism\/Media studies<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years in a communications or journalism\/media position<\/li>\n<li>Experience in planning and implementing communication strategies, including budgeting, as well as writing press releases, short engaging articles, headlines, teasers<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and use of digital media and websites<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French would be an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing consultants and service providers in the publications production process<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work systematically and accurately according to strict deadlines and under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of visual communication tools (Photoshop and InDesign would be an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>This position requires extensive travel both regionally and internationally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The contract will be for 12 months and may be renewed subject to programme requirements, funding and satisfactory performance.
