The Community Keepers multidisciplinary team operates from school-based offices and delivers a variety of services to learners including, assessments, counselling, therapy, life skills programmes, parenting workshops and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Counsellors \/ Social Workers [x 2]<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Franschhoek, Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Manage school office:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administrate all services delivered at the school, including scheduling of appointments, liaising with referrers, assisting visitors at the office, coordinating school management meetings and general office administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Support services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct assessments<\/li>\n<li>Provide individual and\/or group therapy<\/li>\n<li>Obtain collateral from relevant support systems<\/li>\n<li>Give feedback<\/li>\n<li>Record the therapy process and recording of data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Relationship building:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain relationships with learners, educators and parents<\/li>\n<li>Be involve in extramural activities<\/li>\n<li>Maintain relationships with community partners and establishing new connections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parents and educators:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaise with parent committees to organise parenting sessions<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to professional development sessions with educators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programmes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Present life skills programmes<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that monitoring and evaluation plans are implemented and performance targets are achieved<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tertiary qualification, preferably a B Social Work (and registered with the SACSSP) or BEd (Hons) in Ed Psych \/ BEd Psych (and registered as a counsellor with the HPCSA)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in counselling children as well as working in a school context<\/li>\n<li>Sound ethical principles of practice<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in the development of creative approaches for interventions for individual and school development<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Verbal and written communication skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Natural ability to build strategic relationships and interact with individuals of different backgrounds<\/li>\n<li>Passion for teamwork and community-based interventions<\/li>\n<li>Capability to represent the values and ethos of the organisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, download the application form from our website (<a href=\"https:\/\/communitykeepers.org\/get-involved\/#tab_involved_1\">https:\/\/communitykeepers.org\/get-involved\/#tab_involved_1<\/a>) and submit to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:applications@communitykeepers.org\">applications@communitykeepers.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with &#8220;School counsellor \/ Social Worker: Franschhoek&#8221; in the subject line.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:applications@communitykeepers.org\">applications@communitykeepers.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with Counsellor Cape Town as the subject.<\/p>\n<p>Note that we do not consider other documentation for applications.<\/p>\n<p>Do not include reference letters or proof of qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Community Keepers reserves the right to fill this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>8th Feb, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community Keepers is a nonprofit organisation aiming to promote the social and emotional wellbeing of children and youth by providing support services within schools.
