It provides free advice and support to workers, privileging casual, contract, labour broker and other precarious workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Education and Media Officer\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> Commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, plan, facilitate and evaluate education activities<\/li>\n<li>Develop appropriate learning materials for worker rights education<\/li>\n<li>Develop, implement and monitor a media strategy<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate media relations and press releases<\/li>\n<li>Write and edit publications and opinion pieces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience with social and\/or labour movements<\/li>\n<li>Experience in adult and popular education methodologies, facilitation and development skills<\/li>\n<li>Written and verbal communication skills in several South African languages<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of labour struggles<\/li>\n<li>Some experience with the media<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently in a demanding environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well within a democratic collective culture<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<li>A valid driving licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit a motivational letter, an up-to-date CV and details of two contactable referees to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:women@cwao.org.za\">women@cwao.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preference will be given to black women candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>15th Feb, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Casual Workers Advice Office (CWAO) was founded in 2011 as a nonprofit, independent organisation.
