AFSA has been selected to be appointed by the Global Fund as one of the Principal Recipients (PRs) that will manage programmes to be funded by the grant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Human Rights and Advocacy Programme Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Durban<br \/>\n<strong>Job Duration:\u00a0<\/strong>April 2019 \u2013 March 2021<\/p>\n<p>The Organisation wishes to appoint a suitably qualified individual to serve a Human Rights and Advocacy Manager. Applicants must have the ability to work in a demanding and high pressured environment. This position will be based at the AFSA offices in Durban.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and oversee the effective implementation and coordination of the AGYW programme interventions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that staff working within Human rights programme are documenting, and reporting on, their work correctly<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Sub-recipient (SR) performance frameworks, in collaboration with the PR\u2019s Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and SR Programme Managers<\/li>\n<li>Participate in national identified Advocacy issues<\/li>\n<li>Identify and drive Provincial Advocacy issues in all GF districts.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and monitor programme deliverables and manage programme budget and expenditure<\/li>\n<li>Provide training and technical assistance, Convene partners\u2019 quarterly meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee program implementation as per the program SOPs<\/li>\n<li>Draft and present programme reports<\/li>\n<li>Manage communication relating to Human rights programme internally and externally<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for risk management and crisis response planning<\/li>\n<li>Create a performance culture for SRs and institute remedial actions to address poor performance as and when necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or related fields<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience working in social development or corporate CSI<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years\u2019 experience working on International Donor funded programmes specifically focused on work related to Human Rights and Advocacy for minority groups<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment is required<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in the non-profit sector in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in English and have excellent presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in results based planning, monitoring and evaluation; conducting research, publishing and documenting projects<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of international donor aid compliance requirements essential<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills (Microsoft Office, MS Project, advanced Excel)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent report writing and editorial skills.<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license and the ability to drive essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested persons need to submit a brief CV, along with cover letter and certified copies of certificates, ID and driver\u2019s license with the reference \u201c<strong>Human Rights and Advocacy Manager<\/strong>\u201d in the subject line via emails to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@aids.org.za\"><strong>recruitment@aids.org.za<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0no later than <strong>16\/02\/2019.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that applications received after this date or with missing information will not be considered<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you may apply directly on our website at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aids.org.za\/vacancies\/\">https:\/\/www.aids.org.za\/vacancies\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted &#8211; should you not hear from us by 20\/02\/2019, you may consider your application unsuccessful.
