The Organisation work to ensure that the political and electoral systems are open, fair and accountable to the public and that they remain relevant in the changing South African socio-political context.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communication Intern\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> March 2019<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> Six months<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to assist with social media and content creation across our various campaigns and events.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop content plan with Communications Officer<\/li>\n<li>Develop campaign related content for website, social media and mainstream media<\/li>\n<li>Network with civil society organisations and media in and around South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Attend meetings and events as delegated by Communications Officer or Director<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to travel outside of Cape Town<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Proven written articles or other content (forward portfolio or links to your work)<\/li>\n<li>The ability to come up with engaging content and ideas around the work we do<\/li>\n<li>Social media experience<\/li>\n<li>WordPress or other web publishing skills preferable<\/li>\n<li>Interest in politics a must<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and or interest in advocacy advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills a must<\/li>\n<li>Ability to build and maintain relationships a must<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in another language other than English advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Ability\u00a0to work individually and in a team<\/li>\n<li>An out-the-box thinker and always willing to learn<\/li>\n<li>Respectable<\/li>\n<li>Willing to work longer hours when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, submit your CV, a motivation letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:communications@myvotecounts.org.za\">communications@myvotecounts.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>28th Feb, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Vote Counts NPC is a nonprofit organisation that improves the accountability, transparency and inclusiveness of elections and politics in the Republic of South Africa.
