Bursaries are open to citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.\u00a0 Applicants should be registered for a music degree\/ diploma at a South African University in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The following bursaries are on offer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>General Music Study (R10 000 each) available to students in their 1st and 2nd years<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sena.org.za\/images\/Indigenous2012Forms.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">DOWNLOAD FORM HERE\u2026<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Music Education Bursaries (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in music education in their 3rd and 4th years<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sena.org.za\/images\/MusicEducation2012Forms.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">DOWNLOAD FORM HERE\u2026<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Composition Study (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in music composition in their 3rd, 4th and postgraduate years<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sena.org.za\/images\/Composition2012Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">DOWNLOAD FORM HERE\u2026<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Indigenous African Music Research (R10 000 each) for post-graduate research students at Honours, Masters or Doctoral level.<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sena.org.za\/images\/Indigenous2012Forms.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">DOWNLOAD FORM HERE\u2026<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>SAMRO OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS COMPETITION FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CLOSING DATE 30 April 2012<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the above-mentioned bursaries, the SAMRO Overseas Scholarships is a competition held every year.\u00a0 These Awards currently rotate in the following four-year cycle:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2012 Instrumentalists<\/li>\n<li>2013 Keyboard Players<\/li>\n<li>2014 Composers<\/li>\n<li>2015 Singers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Scholarships, one for Western Art music and one for Jazz\/ Popular music, are for applicants who have already obtained a degree or equivalent diploma in music, or who are in their final year of such degree or equivalent diploma.\u00a0 The award is to be used for post-graduate study overseas.\u00a0 The value is R160 000 each plus travel allowance of up to R10 000.
