The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) announces, via its Endowment for the National Arts, the SAMRO Music Bursaries for 2012.<\/p>\n
These Bursaries are the most substantial awards in music study in Southern Africa. Bursaries are open to citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.\u00a0 Applicants should be registered for a music degree\/ diploma at a South African University in 2012.<\/p>\n

The following bursaries are on offer:<\/p>\n
SAMRO OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS COMPETITION FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n CLOSING DATE 30 April 2012<\/p>\n In addition to the above-mentioned bursaries, the SAMRO Overseas Scholarships is a competition held every year.\u00a0 These Awards currently rotate in the following four-year cycle:<\/p>\n The Scholarships, one for Western Art music and one for Jazz\/ Popular music, are for applicants who have already obtained a degree or equivalent diploma in music, or who are in their final year of such degree or equivalent diploma.\u00a0 The award is to be used for post-graduate study overseas.\u00a0 The value is R160 000 each plus travel allowance of up to R10 000.
