The organisation enables individuals to become self-sufficient by delivering programmes that focus on education; skills development; income generation; health and family services. Ikamva Labantu seeks to appoint a Community-based Worker\u00a0for the Senior Department, to be based in Umelwane, Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0 Community-based Worker\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Western Cape<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> Programme Coordinator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct home visits of community with local area of the joining seniors club<\/li>\n<li>Observation of the home and client<\/li>\n<li>Visual Assessment of living conditions of the home<\/li>\n<li>Verbal interaction to identify the physical, emotional, economic and social challenges experienced by the older person and with family when required<\/li>\n<li>Invitation to Older person to attend the seniors club if well enough to do so<\/li>\n<li>Render support as discussed with programme head for the seniors if no appropriate as a club member<\/li>\n<li>Daily feedback to coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Where necessary referral to Counsellor, Social worker, CBHW and Registered Nurse<\/li>\n<li>Referral and follow- up to partner organisations<\/li>\n<li>Record homes visited and report back in month report and team meetings<\/li>\n<li>Record keeping of referrals and follow-ups<\/li>\n<li>Submission of reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A grade 12 certificate<\/li>\n<li>A qualification in Auxiliary Social Work or as a community development worker would be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of community development<\/li>\n<li>Commitment, drive for results, embracing diversity, Integrity, teamwork, managing resources, self-awareness and self-regulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply:<\/strong> Submit a comprehensive C.V. with a covering letter to Ikamva Labantu Human Resources Department:<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:careers@ikamva.org.za\">careers@ikamva.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>15th March, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1963, Ikamva Labantu is a nonprofit organisation that helps builds communities by connecting with leaders, teachers and guardians who are already committed to supporting and uplifting those around&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1353,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[243],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
