{"id":45251,"date":"2019-03-14T19:56:53","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T17:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=45251"},"modified":"2019-03-14T20:03:50","modified_gmt":"2019-03-14T18:03:50","slug":"the-social-justice-coalition-sjc-latest-vacancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-social-justice-coalition-sjc-latest-vacancy.html","title":{"rendered":"The Social Justice Coalition (SJC) Latest Vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Social Justice Coalition (SJC) is a democratic, mass-based social movement that campaigns for the advancement of the constitutional rights to life, dignity, equality, freedom and safety for all people, but especially those living in informal settlements across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Governance and Finance Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Khayelitsha, Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> Immediately<\/p>\n<p>The Governance and Finance Manager supports the General Secretary (GS) and Deputy General Secretary (DGS) and manages the operational coordination of the SJC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide strategic support for the GS and DGS in their work. This includes political, administrative, and research support where needed<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the budget of the SJC is managed effectively and that resources are available to ensure the strategies of the SJC can be implemented<\/li>\n<li>Oversee SJC\u2019s banking, cash disbursement and bookkeeping administration<\/li>\n<li>Implement and manage financial administration of the SJC<\/li>\n<li>Enable SJC\u2019s organisational governance systems to function effectively and ensure that the strategy of the SJC is implemented effectively<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that management systems are developed, implemented across the organisation, and that monitoring and evaluation takes place<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate donor management in support of the GS office, including fundraising, reporting, and liaising with donors where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Report to the GS and DGS on organisational development and targets and work to ensure that these are met<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tertiary qualification<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure, perform multiple tasks, and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to problem solve and deal creatively and rapidly with issues as they arise<\/li>\n<li>Organisational and systems management abilities including strategic thinking<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>IT proficiency, especially Microsoft (Excel and Word)<\/li>\n<li>Research and writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Management and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Initiative and able to drive processes throughout the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable and flexible during pressurised times<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deal with conflict situations<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with community organisations preferable<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to social justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a CV and a maximum of one-page cover letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:hr@sjc.org.za\">hr@sjc.org.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0Friday, 22 March, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Social Justice Coalition (SJC) is a democratic, mass-based social movement that campaigns for the advancement of the constitutional rights to life, dignity, equality, freedom and safety for all people,&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1353,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[57],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
