All our full-time students are viewed as potential employees \u2013 depending on vacancies being available after successfully completing their qualifications.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Bursary Value<\/h3>\n<p>The comprehensive bursary, covers the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuition fees<\/li>\n<li>Accommodation and meals<\/li>\n<li>Book Allowance<\/li>\n<li>Experiential training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students are allowed to study at a South African University of their own choice who offers the relevant fields of study.<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\" bgcolor=\"#F3F3F3\"><strong>This list may vary depending on the needs of the company:<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#C7C7C7\" width=\"51%\"><strong>B. Engineering<\/strong><\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#C7C7C7\" width=\"49%\"><strong>B.Sc<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\">Industrial<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\">Quantity Surveying<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\">Electrical<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\">Environmental Management<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\">Electronic<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\">Mechanical<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\">Civil<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\">Electro-Mechanical<\/td>\n<td bgcolor=\"#F5F8F9\"><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td bgcolor=\"#E8E9EB\">Metallurgy<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3>Selection<\/h3>\n<p>After the screening of applications by the Transnet Bursary Department, candidates \u2013 based on academic performance on secondary or tertiary level \u2013 will be invited to be interviewed. The interviews will take place at Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Durban.<\/p>\n<p><em>The final selection and award is subjective to the following:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interview<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactory academic results<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What will Transnet expect from me? (Contractual Obligations)<\/h3>\n<p>Students are required to render one year service for every year of financial aid received from Transnet after acquiring the qualification.<\/p>\n<p>Subjects failed must be repeated at student\u2019s own cost. Termination of the bursary will be in consultation with the student and the training institution.<br \/>\nIf the student fails to comply with the requirements of the bursary agreement, the bursary becomes payable in terms of the agreement<\/p>\n<p>The bursary will be renewed annually if the student\u2019s academic performance is satisfactory.<\/p>\n<h3>Vacation work<\/h3>\n<p>Vacation work is available during June\/July or December\/January holidays.<\/p>\n<p><em>The following information must be supplied.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Required period<\/li>\n<li>Preferred location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Accommodation arrangements are the student\u2019s responsibility and must be paid for by the student with the allowance received.<\/p>\n<h3>Work Integrated Learning<\/h3>\n<h3>University of Technology Students:<\/h3>\n<p>Transnet provides work integrated to students who have a completed S4 in-order to obtain the qualification in line with the requirements set by the training institution.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Apply?<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transnet.net\/Bursaries\/BurseryApp.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Apply Online<\/a>\u00a0or<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transnet.net\/Career\/Transnet%20Bursary\/Transnet_Eng_Bursary_Form-2.2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Download Application Form<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Full-time undergraduate Full-time bursaries are awarded annually according to the employment needs of the company.
