The types of categories of membership of the association entails that it accommodates people of all age groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance and Operations Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> R 30\u00a0000 Negotiable<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> This is a full time position, on an initial 12 months\u2019 contract, with the potential of renewal for a further one year, based on the availability of funding<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report to:<\/strong> The Executive Director and the Treasurer of ASSITEJ South\u00a0Africa<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is the overall responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the organisation, thereby enabling ASSITEJ SA to implement\u00a0its\u00a0mission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capture monthly transactions on SAGE ONE by funding contract across all bank accounts<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations, VAT 201&#8217;s and submissions on E-Filing<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly payroll for up to 100 staff or more and process staff salaries monthly<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly cost recovery calculations for allocating indirect costs to projects and accruals<\/li>\n<li>Prepare journal entries with supporting documents where required<\/li>\n<li>Prepare financial reporting to\u00a0the Board\u00a0of Directors quarterly<\/li>\n<li>Prepare\u00a0financial reports for all donors as required and within the contractual timeframes and in accordance with donor contracts<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the annual income tax return<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of annual and\u00a0project-based\u00a0budgets<\/li>\n<li>Maintain all tax matters with SARS (PAYE, VAT, Income Tax, Tax Clearance Certificates)<\/li>\n<li>Maintain consolidated time-keeping records for\u00a0the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain electronic accounting records<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and coordinate documents\/accounts for statutory audit, as well as for all project audits<\/li>\n<li>Process payments correctly<\/li>\n<li>Maintain all cash advances and reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Register\/ deregister staff with the Dept. of Labour for UIF as when needed<\/li>\n<li>Manage all forex payments, requests and transfers<\/li>\n<li>Manage and supervise all procurement, ensuring alignment with policies and donor contracts<\/li>\n<li>Monitor project expenditure and implement corrective action where such expenditure exceeds or is not consistent with agreed budgets and donor requirements<\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0all documents are electronically and physically filed and available for internal and external audits<\/li>\n<li>Correct and rectify any qualifications made by auditors<\/li>\n<li>Develop annual programme, project and organisational budgets, overseeing and supervising budget plans of projects with the director<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly bank reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the fixed asset register<\/li>\n<li>Review the insurance policy to ensure assets are suitably covered<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the maintenance of the office building and equipment and other assets<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and coach interns<\/li>\n<li>Design and maintain office operational systems, processes and policies<\/li>\n<li>Support Project Managers with logistical arrangements when required<\/li>\n<li>Support Director with financial reporting and identifying new funders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Management<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years&#8217; experience in an accounting\/financial management role (non-negotiable)<\/li>\n<li>Effective oral\/written communication skills in at least two of the following languages: English, IsiXhosa, Afrikaans<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills, with work experience using different online accounting systems, specifically SAGE ONE<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and specifically Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with projects and project accounting will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Experience within the NGO environment and donor reporting requirements will be preferred<\/li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality is a must<\/li>\n<li>Financial report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Strong planning, time management and project management skills, able to work with limited supervision<\/li>\n<li>Results-oriented, professional, accountable, proactive and trustworthy individual<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and people\u2019s person, who appreciates diversity<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to work as a team member<\/li>\n<li>Must have a desire and\/or interest to work in the Arts and
