oiled wildlife response and achieves this internationally recognised work through applying high veterinary standards and compassionate care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Volunteer and Intern Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong> Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report to:<\/strong> The Education Supervisor of SANCCOB<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to develop and manage the volunteer, intern and animal professional exchange programmes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Market and develop SANCCOB\u2019s volunteer and internship programmes to individuals and to volunteering organisations against predetermined financial targets<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with volunteer companies and caseworkers, both existing and new<\/li>\n<li>Recruit volunteers and interns and ensure that they are appropriately placed within the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the flow of volunteers and interns at SANCCOB to meet capacity needs and according to set quotas, including monthly scheduling and rostering<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate all aspects of the volunteer and internship programmes, including day-to-day management of volunteers\u00a0and interns<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate orientation sessions, networking and training sessions to provide volunteers and interns with knowledge and skills to contribute in a meaningful way during their time at SANCCOB<\/li>\n<li>Offer advice, information and support to volunteers and interns, and external organisations, through face-to-face, telephone and e-mail contact<\/li>\n<li>Prepare surveys to evaluate the programmes, provide reference letters and certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Host open days and monthly social events<\/li>\n<li>Maintain databases and all other administrative duties related to volunteers and interns.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the volunteer and intern budget<\/li>\n<li>Build relationships with current and new volunteers, ensuring they feel appreciated<\/li>\n<li>Be the contact person for SANCCOB internship programmes through which SANCCOB acts as a host institution and be responsible for all communication and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the set-up of intern training plans and mentor meetings between interns and SANCCOB assigned mentors to ensure a structured internship programme<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate all volunteers and interns during crises situations such as oil spills or any other large influx of birds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous people management\/coordination experience essential<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the volunteer (local and\/or international) industry will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)<\/li>\n<li>High school diploma (a tertiary qualification in human resources and\/or people management related fields will be an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Clear criminal and credit record<\/li>\n<li>Work permit, permanent residency or a South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and able to develop a positive relationship with a diverse group of individuals, while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism<\/li>\n<li>Practical problem solving and organisational skills, with great attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop written content and excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>A friendly and positive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adhere to deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work pro-actively as part of a team and also individually<\/li>\n<li>Ability to mentor and coach others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a
