CareWorks has a national footprint of dedicated staff and contracted providers to meet your healthcare needs throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\"> <strong>Job Title:\u00a0HTS Lay Counsellor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type Contract:<\/strong> Fixed Term 01 April 2019 \u2013 30 September 2019<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date: <\/strong>Asap<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"wixGuard\"><strong>Experience:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Experience\u00a0in HIV, STI and TB prevention<br \/>\n<strong>Salary Range:\u00a0<\/strong>Market Related To be discussed<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\"><strong>Education Experience:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent<\/p>\n<p>HIV\/AIDS Counselling Certificate \u2013 minimum 10-day Course, which is not older than 2 years from the date of issue<br \/>\nOR<br \/>\nHIV\/AIDS Counselling Certificate &#8211; minimum 10-day Course, older than 2 years\u2019, but not more than 3 years\u2019, with a certificate for a 2-day refresher course from an accredited provider.<\/p>\n<p>Finger Prick Certificate advantageous<br \/>\n<strong>Inherent requirements of the position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resident in the above listed location<\/li>\n<li>Good counselling and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Committed and motivated to preventing HIV, STI\u2019s and TB<\/li>\n<li>Non-judgmental, trustworthy and empathetic personality<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in multiple South African languages<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel as and when required<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to time<\/li>\n<li>Valid drivers\u2019 license and own transport will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct community based combination HIV prevention initiatives including STI\u2019s, TB, HTS, risk reduction, interventions in TB, STI\u2019s screening and referrals to high risk sexually active adults<\/li>\n<li>Provide an HTS service using ACTS Model or an equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Obtain an informed and written consent for HIV counselling and testing, TB and STI\u2019s screening, and family planning and Medical Male Circumcision (MMC)<\/li>\n<li>Participation in staff meetings and appropriate training workshops<\/li>\n<li>Data collection and compilation of monthly report forms as required<\/li>\n<li>Provide HIV prevention education and information in group sessions<\/li>\n<li>Detect and report barriers to HIV, STI and TB health seeking behaviour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit your application to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jobs@careworks.co.za\">jobs@careworks.co.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>or Fax: 021 413 2933<\/li>\n<li>Your application must contain\u00a0ALL\u00a0of the following:<\/li>\n<li>A cover letter motivating your application<\/li>\n<li>Submit your up to date CV<\/li>\n<li>State the position you are applying for and location in the subject line of the email application<\/li>\n<li>Application Deadline: Close of business, Friday, 29 March 2019\u00a0Please take note of the following before submitting an application:<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that you meet the all of the requirements of the position (educational, inherent requirements as well as required experience)<\/li>\n<li>Unless otherwise stated CareWorks will not pay relocation costs for candidates who wish to take up a position in another town or province<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 29 March, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since 2004, CareWorks has provided healthcare services to\u00a0companies\u00a0and their employees, members of\u00a0medical schemes,\u00a0bargaining councils,\u00a0life assurers &amp; retirement funds\u00a0as well as\u00a0community members.
