The girls are removed from their abusive circumstances and are referred to Guild Cottage by the courts. Our team of experts provides each child with appropriate therapy and helps them to heal.\u00a0Most of the girls are placed in our care until they can reunite with their families or are progressed to places that continue their rehabilitation and healing. The aim is to assist these girls to become well rounded and productive members of society until they finish school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Social Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> As soon as possible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:<\/strong> The Executive Director Guild Cottage<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the therapy and care of the girls placed at Guild Cottage and support the Executive Director in the management of the centre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Therapeutic interventions and placements<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Individual and group therapy sessions and house meetings<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and attend psychiatric appointments<\/li>\n<li>Supervise IDP reviews<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate panels and new admissions and administer court orders and court appearances<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the child\u2019s return to the care of their families or other appropriate placements after treatment is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>School Liaison<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaise with schools regarding the girls placed at Guild Cottage<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the girls are correctly placed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Parent \/ Host \/ Volunteer Liaison\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrange and monitor contact between child and parent \/ host<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and monitor volunteers \/ hosts wishing to be involved at Guild Cottage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programme Manager\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate Strategic Framework for the Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCW)<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate schedules for the girls, including holiday programmes<\/li>\n<li>Ensure smooth running of holistic programmes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise social worker, child and youth care workers and community worker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Administrative\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage all legal placements of children at Guild<\/li>\n<li>Record Keeping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Social Work qualification<\/li>\n<li>Member of good standing with the SACSSP<\/li>\n<li>Stay up to date with development within the relevant field and areas of responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Unendorsed drivers\u2019 license and own vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Additional South African languages will be strong recommendation<\/li>\n<li>Five to seven years\u2019 experience, working with sexually abused children, providing support and counselling to the children<\/li>\n<li>In depth knowledge of the Children\u2019s Act and to be familiar with the Social Service Professions Act<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the developmental approach and strength-based approach<\/li>\n<li>Five to seven years of therapeutic experience and report writing<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing individuals and teams<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and management skills<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills (English verbal and written) and an African language is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate<\/li>\n<li>Strong planning and organisation skills, able to manage own workload and take initiative<\/li>\n<li>Trustworthy and reliable<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s licence and own car<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under stress<\/li>\n<li>Team player<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating confidence, and stature<\/li>\n<li>High energy levels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a detailed CV to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:guildcot2@mweb.co.za\">guildcot2@mweb.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Wednesday, 17 April, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guild Cottage is a residential facility for the rehabilitation of 18 seriously traumatised girls, who are of school going age, and from all demographics, and it is the only short-term&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1353,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[2246],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Guild Cottage Recent Vacancy - Apply Here!
