Through social facilitation and technical support, CORC assists linking up informal settlements and civil society to the local government.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Documenter and Report Writer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>This is a part-time position<\/p>\n<p>CORC is conducting community based planning ahead of informal settlement upgrading in two informal settlements in Stellenbosch Municipality as part of an agreement with Western Cape Department for Human Settlements regarding the Department\u2019s Informal Settlement Support Plan (ISSP). The vacancy includes documenting the various phases of each of the two upgrading projects and, ideally, contributing to report writing for milestone deliverables of each project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Project documenting<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Document all meetings related to the 2 projects in Stellenbosch Municipality. This involves taking minutes, photos and soft and hard copy filing.\u00a0The filing needs to be aligned with CORC\u2019s filing system. Update the project status sheet with each action in the project and report to project coordinators<\/li>\n<li>Within 48 hours of meeting send\u00a0 minutes to the Project Coordinators for distribution<\/li>\n<li>Expected to attend all Project Steering Committee meetings as well as meetings and workshops with community,\u00a0assist with workshop material where necessary i.e. printing out of information, compiling community feedback material etc<\/li>\n<li>Ensure completion of attendance register and filing<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the CORC finance and admin team to make sure all relevant documentation is filed and accessible<\/li>\n<li>From time to time the person is expected to capture input on the flipchart paper and convert this into typed up minutes afterwards<\/li>\n<li>Both projects are quite meeting intensive and it may involve after hours meetings as well as weekends<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Report writing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete reports either drafted by CORC person or write report to be finalised by CORC person<\/li>\n<li>Report writing may include the following:<\/li>\n<li>Inception Report which includes the detailed project implementation plan and possibly the settlement profile where applicable<\/li>\n<li>Report on the workshops related to capacity building and leadership training<\/li>\n<li>Enumeration report<\/li>\n<li>Close out report which provides a summary of the process, lessons learnt and recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with graphic designer for content and layout, and proof reading \/ editing for final reports<\/li>\n<li>Requirements:<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in urban \/ informal settlement context<\/li>\n<li>Written English and report writing experience<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of additional languages advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license, willingness and ability to drive between Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Franschoek<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, taking initiative and see gaps, forward thinking, ability to assimilate and analyse information, skilled social communication with different stakeholders (community, government officials etc)<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a CV, contact details of two referees and a motivation letter to:<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:finance@corc.co.za\">finance@corc.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 12 April, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Community Organisation Resource Centre (CORC) is a nonprofit organisation\u00a0working in informal settlements supporting communities to improve their built environment.
