{"id":45781,"date":"2019-04-02T18:05:33","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T16:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=45781"},"modified":"2019-04-02T18:05:33","modified_gmt":"2019-04-02T16:05:33","slug":"lily-of-the-valley-current-job-vacancy-apply-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/lily-of-the-valley-current-job-vacancy-apply-now.html","title":{"rendered":"Lily of the Valley Current Job Vacancy &#8211; Apply Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lily of the Valley provides holistic care for children and youth who have been marginalised through HIV and AIDS and a broken society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Child and Youth Care Worker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Durban<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> R 4, 736.00 per month excluding overtime and standby<\/p>\n<p>This full-time position<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The child and youth care worker is responsible for the provision of basic developmental care of children and youth where their emotional, spiritual, cognitive and social needs are protected<\/li>\n<li>Life skill teaching, crisis intervention, planning and participating in educational, social and recreational activities<\/li>\n<li>Assists with the implementation of programmes and activities for children and youth on the basis of their identified developmental needs<\/li>\n<li>Participate in a multi-disciplinary team<\/li>\n<li>Direct care, supervision and development of the children and youth, ensuring that each child and youth receive the highest possible level of care and support, including consistent emotional and physical nurture suitable to the developmental needs of each child<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with Lily policies, and to CYCC standards as defined in the Children\u2019s Act<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to child and youth care work code of ethics and programmatic standard operating procedures and principles<\/li>\n<li>Develop a positive rapport with children and youth while serving as a role model to create a safe and loving environment<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a hazard free and orderly household, prepare meals in accordance with the posted menu, administer medication in accordance with doctor\u2019s guidance, complete all required medication charts, forms and incident reports<\/li>\n<li>Attend mandatory trainings, workshops, and meetings as required by the organisation to enhance professional growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 12 Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in Child and Youth Care qualification as recognised by HWSETA\/ National Diploma in Child and Youth Care Development<\/li>\n<li>Registration with South African Council for Social Services Professions as a Child and Youth Care Worker<\/li>\n<li>Proof of current Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions as Child Youth Care Worker<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three to five years\u2019 work experience as a child and youth care worker in a residential care environment after obtaining a required certificate<\/li>\n<li>Child protection register and police clearance certificate<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have a broad knowledge of the Children\u2019s Act, Regulations, and a thorough understanding of the normal growth and developmental needs of children and youth<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work with children and youth with a diverse background<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated listening and information seeking skills that promote communication and lead to a co-operative approach to problem-solving within a multidisciplinary setting<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to adhere to policies and respond to supervision<\/li>\n<li>Must have knowledge and ability to assist children with their school work<\/li>\n<li>Must have broad knowledge and understanding of HIV\/AIDS and ART<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the rules and procedures of the center.
