The programme aims to influence policy and legislation to ban corporal punishment in the home, to support and equip children, caregivers and communities to prevent and respond to violence against and to facilitate safe school environments for children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Child Protection Project Coordinator \u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Base:\u00a0Polokwane or Kwa Zulu Natal (Durban) Provincial Office\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Grade:\u00a0<\/strong>5<br \/>\n<strong>Fixed Term:\u00a0<\/strong>2 years 8 months<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:\u00a0<\/strong>Child Protection Project Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Travel Requirements:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>30% domestic when required<br \/>\n<strong>Budget Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong>None<br \/>\n<strong>Asset Responsibilities:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Save the Children work tools<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this role is to serve as the implementing technical expert for the CPP project. The Project Coordinator will also assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and evaluating of child protection activities for achieving the goals, outcome and outputs which are included in the CPP strategy and logical framework particularly related to Child Protection Systems, Violence Against Children and Positive Parenting and Discipline. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for liaising both internally with other units and externally with other organisations to ensure proper coordination and implementation of the programme. The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Child Protection Project Manager, and in close collaboration with the respective Provincial Managers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify potential Child Protection stakeholders and resources for partnership \/project implementation in the targeted locations;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct daily project activities as stated in the annual implementation plan (i.e. training, mentoring etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Manage project implementation challenges with support from the CP Project Manager<\/li>\n<li>Conduct daily, weekly and monthly project data collection<\/li>\n<li>Manage and implement filed baseline, mid-line &amp; end line which include training of enumerators<\/li>\n<li>Implement CPP activities according to the set quality benchmarks<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate CPP Project quality benchmark audits and creates the report<\/li>\n<li>Prepare CPP Project quarterly reviews and reporting according to the results framework<\/li>\n<li>Develop monthly project implementation plans and reports (both narrative and statistical)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Facilitates project documentation i.e. developing dissemination project case stories (good practise stories case studies etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Establish new and essential stakeholder relationships<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen existing stakeholder relationships at Districts and local level<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and facilitate the Child Protection Systems reports and maintain the database of child protection referral and feedback<\/li>\n<li>Any other related responsibilities as the CP Project Manager may require.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in English and other local languages<\/li>\n<li>Experience in planning and facilitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Competent in Microsoft office and project management tools e.g. excel<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiatives and multitask without supervision<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>A team player with good interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Effective time management and coordination skills<\/li>\n<li>Financial management and understanding of budgets and management thereof<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant development or social science field or equivalent recognised Project Management qualification;<\/li>\n<li>At least 2-3 years\u2019 experience in the South African children\u2019s sector;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate skills and experience in project implementation, preferable having worked in the NGO sector<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving and decision making skills<\/li>\n<li>Community mobilisation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All candidates are to send their CVs and cover letter to<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:DMashele@savethechildren.org.za\">DMashele@savethechildren.org.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with subject \u201cCP Project Coordinator \u201d and stating the specific base Province no later than Friday, 12 of April 2019 COB.
