More specifically, Numeric\u2019s goal is to create exciting and high impact learning environments in low-income areas with a view to helping learners in Grade 7 to establish strong foundations in mathematics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Location: <\/b>Pinetown, Durban.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a012 months (subject to renewal)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to oversee programme at five partner schools, which equates to ten classrooms or approximately 250 learners. Ensure that coaches are adequately equipped, both materially and pedagogically, to deliver high impact maths education to these children and give them solid foundations upon entry into high school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage relationships with partner schools (principals, maths H.O. D\u2019s, teachers)<\/li>\n<li>Handle logistics involved\u00a0with\u00a0the programmes (finance, transport, connectivity)<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of the programme (curriculum, games, activities, worksheets)<\/li>\n<li>Support and mentor coaches<\/li>\n<li>Arrange parents\u2019 evenings, prize-giving\u2019s etc. to encourage parent buy-in and commitment<\/li>\n<li>Train coaches and teachers on the use of Khan Academy and Numeric learning tools<\/li>\n<li>Additional administrative tasks required to develop the\u00a0organisation<\/li>\n<li>Plan and prepare for the Coach Bootcamp and Learner Math Camp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors\u2019 Degree or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Higher grade mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Teaching or tutoring experience<\/li>\n<li>Involvement or leadership in outreach or extra-curricular projects<\/li>\n<li>Communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to multi-task and maintain a high quality of work<\/li>\n<li>Interest and ability to handle new and changing technologies<\/li>\n<li>Interest in mentoring and developing future teachers<\/li>\n<li>Own transport and valid drivers\u2019 license<\/li>\n<li>Be dedicated to our cause, passionate about mathematics, and have strong organisational and people skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a CV and letter of motivation (maximum two pages) to <strong><a href=\"mailto:vacancies@numeric.org\">vacancies@numeric.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>quoting \u201cDBN Program Manager\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Wednesday, 15 May, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Numeric is a small team of friendly people who are on a mission to help young South Africans excel in mathematics.
