The organisation exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Business Development Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Purpose of the Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to develop and manage IkamvaYouth\u2019s fundraising and sustainability strategy. Furthermore, he\/she is required to oversee the efficient running of the business development department and to support.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Development Manager will report to the Executive Director. The position will be based in Cape Town \u2013 IkamvaHouse (Salt River)\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0Johannesburg \u2013 Milpark\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0Pretoria &#8211; Signal House.<br \/>\nSalary: R 436,610.76 per annum<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>KPA1:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Strategic Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee operations of the business development department<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement a fundraising strategy<\/li>\n<li>Develop a strategy with detailed execution plans to achieve greater financial sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement reserve policy<\/li>\n<li>Set department objectives and design a framework in which objectives can be achieved<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement policies related to activities focused on business development, fundraising and communications<\/li>\n<li>Provide information and input to be incorporated into ARSC, HRGC and Board pack<\/li>\n<li>Provide department specific report backs from meetings attended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KPA2: Fundraising<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identifying potential funders by identifying corporates that provide funding to improve BEE status<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate relationships with potential new donors<\/li>\n<li>Provide potential funding corporates with information on BEE scoring<\/li>\n<li>Develop a strategy to leverage the opportunities presented by the changes to the BEE codes including skills development which includes accreditation and enterprise development<\/li>\n<li>Securing 60% of the following year\u2019s income by September each year<\/li>\n<li>Together with Executive Director represent IY at funding meetings<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit proposals for funding of 500k or more<\/li>\n<li>Prepare proposals to funders about IY\u2019s skills development matric bursary<\/li>\n<li>Review proposals for funding over 500K<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KPA3: Donor Liaison and Grant Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and manage positive relationships with all stakeholders such as government, donors, other NGOs, and commercial business<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage relationships with donors who fund IY 500K or more on an annual basis<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with existing donors<\/li>\n<li>Review Western Cape government MOU and ensure we comply with its requirements throughout the year<\/li>\n<li>Provide feedback to donors about where the organisation is in terms of reach, sustainability and overall strategy<\/li>\n<li>Develop strategies to best communicate IkamvaYouth\u2019s low cost, high impact model<\/li>\n<li>Review all grant agreements<\/li>\n<li>When required negotiate changes to grant agreements<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with government with the view to creating the Social Impact Bond for the after school sector<\/li>\n<li>Collect branch consolidated report for donor reporting purposes<\/li>\n<li>Review branch consolidated reports to look at trends and areas of concern<\/li>\n<li>Keep abreast of learner retention data<\/li>\n<li>Review learner retention data to be up to date in communications with donors<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and circulate matric results report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KPA4: Financial Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with Finance Manager to prepare the business development department budget<\/li>\n<li>Manage and track expenditure against department budget<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that organization (programmes team, finance etc.) have details of income allocations before the budgeting process is launched<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KPA5: Administration and ad-hoc support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Order and track IY hoodies and t-shirts procurement<\/li>\n<li>Collecting info about funders for the annual report<\/li>\n<li>Review the final content of the annual report<\/li>\n<li>Review all external communications, such as press releases and content for social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the management and maintenance of IY website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KPA6: Staff Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, train and develop business development department support staff<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and manage the team to improve processes and systems, as well as increase efficiency and effectiveness in day to day tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification &amp;
