To ensure that Marltons obtains quality products at competitive prices in a timely fashion. Play an integral role in ensuring that Marltons sticks to budgets and operates profitably. Strategizing to ensure Marltons remains price competitive and has alternate supplier options to existing suppliers.<\/p>\n

Ensure procurement team is effectively managed and trained. Ensuring the regional distribution of stock is in line with regional demand. Keep senior management informed of any opportunities or risks that could benefit or compromise the business.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Procurement Manager (Marltons)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Location:<\/strong> Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa<\/p>\n

Specification<\/strong>
\nRESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u2022Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels
\n\u2022Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous pricing and terms
\n\u2022Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
\n\u2022Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
\n\u2022Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
\n\u2022Examine and review existing contracts
\n\u2022Identify and research potential new suppliers
\n\u2022Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
\n\u2022Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of Marltons
\n\u2022Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
\n\u2022Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
\n\u2022Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
\n\u2022Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
\n\u2022Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
\n\u2022Research new products and services to meet company’s goals
\n\u2022Assess total costs of company purchases<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/strong>
\nREQUIREMENTS
\n\u2022Degree\/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field
\n\u2022At least 5years\u2019 proven working experience as a Procurement Manager
\n\u2022Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a skill in \u201creading\u201d the market
\n\u2022Talent in negotiations and networking
\n\u2022A clear understanding of supply and demand management
\n\u2022A good understanding of the import process
\n\u2022Good knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern the pet care industry in South Africa and neighbouring countries
\n\u2022Good knowledge of the Petcare industry in South Africa
\n\u2022Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
\n\u2022Experience in collecting and analyzing data
\n\u2022Strong leadership capabilities
\n\u2022Excellent negotiating skills<\/p>\n
