The vision is to be the premier institute of research and development in the fields of HIV, TB and other related diseases.<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: <\/b><strong>Clinical Research Pharmacist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Durban<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report to:<\/strong> The Senior Pharmacist<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration: <\/strong>This is a one-year fixed term contract, which is renewable, based continued funding.<\/p>\n<p>The Clinical Research Pharmacist performs a variety of professional level functions in the development and implementation of research\/investigational protocols involving approved and unapproved drugs with regulatory and hospital guidelines, bearing in mind the goals and objectives of research studies.\u00a0S\/he works closely with researchers and research support staff to ensure all pertinent data relating to study and pharmacy\u2019s role in study is communicated in an accurate and timely fashion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviews protocols for clinical investigational drug trials, as required<\/li>\n<li>Conduct pharmacy-related activities in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)<\/li>\n<li>Comply with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements<\/li>\n<li>Implement and maintain study specific procedures according to protocol requirements<\/li>\n<li>Train staff on pharmacy related aspects of protocol and pharmacy study specific SOP\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Monitors pharmacy activities to ensure adherence to study protocols and dispensing procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare for any monitoring and auditing visits from regulatory authorities or sponsors<\/li>\n<li>Interpret prescriptions and dispense medication according to protocols<\/li>\n<li>Advise participants on the correct use of medication<\/li>\n<li>Calculate and monitor adherence to medication and provide adherence counselling<\/li>\n<li>Maintain drug accountability records for all medication<\/li>\n<li>Conduct stock control to ensure the correct availability of stock levels and monitor expiry of medication<\/li>\n<li>Prepare medication for destruction in accordance with SOP\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Administer, process and file relevant documentation<\/li>\n<li>Completes reports including incident reports, adverse drug reaction reports<\/li>\n<li>Compile weekly drug accountability reports and study specific reports as and when required<\/li>\n<li>Attend and contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings<\/li>\n<li>Complete pharmacy CRF\u2019s as required, and file accordingly<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all reporting requirements are adhered to;<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duty within skillset and capability as and when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Bachelor\u2019s degree in pharmacy<\/li>\n<li>Unendorsed South African driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel between sites<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office proficiency essential<\/li>\n<li>Current registration with professional body &#8211; South African Pharmacy Council<\/li>\n<li>In possession of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) certification is preferred but not essential<\/li>\n<li>Internship and community service to have already been completed when applying<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Clinical Trials \/ Research x two years highly recommended, but not essential<\/li>\n<li>Planning and administration skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to draft and distribute professional correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Organisation skills including file organisation are essential<\/li>\n<li>Written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strict attention to detail will be critical to success<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain confidential information is required<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a demanding, challenging and high-pressured environment with a positive attitude, is required<\/li>\n<li>Working independently as well as in a team environment, with a willingness to serve as much as to direct, will be expected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a detailed CV and cover letter to <strong><a href=\"mailto:reddyr@ecarefoundation.com\">recruitment@ecarefoundation.com<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0include your current notice period and salary expectation in your cover letter<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 10 May, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enhancing Care Foundation (ECF) is a not-for-profit organisation based in South Africa that provides key health system\u00a0strengthening, capacity building, clinical and non-clinical research services.
