SCSA is at the forefront of saving children\u2019s lives and creating lasting change for children and their families, reaching over 100,000 children directly and over a million children indirectly annually through child rights, health and nutrition, child protection and education programmes.<\/p>\n<p>From 2018-2020, SCSA implement the Happy Living and Learning project in ECD centres in Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Mpumalanga.\u00a0 With support from the project manager, the ECD project officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the ECD project activities at the selected sites. The project officer will facilitate training for ECD practitioners, supervisors and caregivers in health, education, child protection and child rights and governance. S\/he will liaise with key stakeholders in the community and caregivers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Happy Living and Learning (HLL) Project Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Grade:<\/strong> 10<br \/>\n<strong>Fixed Term:<\/strong> 09 months<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> HLL Project Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Base:<\/strong> Gauteng Provincial Office (JHB)<br \/>\n<strong>Travel Requirements:<\/strong> Travel within the province, some national<br \/>\n<strong>Budget Responsibilities:<\/strong> Own Projects only<br \/>\n<strong>Asset Responsibilities:<\/strong> SCSA working tools<br \/>\n<strong>Child Protection level :<\/strong> 3<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct assessment of ECD sites, and assist in the identification of skill and resource gaps<\/li>\n<li>Initiate and engage with local relevant ECD forums and local communities<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain key government stakeholder relationships<\/li>\n<li>Schedule and implement training workshops and provide follow-up support to the ECD practitioners, staff and caregivers<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the development and revision of training materials<\/li>\n<li>Conduct basic assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Mentor ECD staff in classroom practices and implementation of new skills &amp; knowledge<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with M&amp; E staff, develop monitoring plans for effective delivery of training in the province<\/li>\n<li>In line with the approved project implementation plan and the budget, develop the monthly project plans and monthly progress report<\/li>\n<li>Draft reports on training for inclusion in donor reports<\/li>\n<li>Organise the logistics, communications and preparations of materials and supplies for training events<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and support HLL infrastructure developments coordinated in the province<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PERSON SPECIFICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-matriculation diploma or degree in Child Care or Early Childhood Development, Undergraduate qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level of Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 3 years\u2019 experience in the ECD sector (must have knowledge of early childhood development service provision sector \u2013 Government and non-governmental)<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience in training\/facilitation (ECD Management, health, early childhood development, education, child protection and child rights)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent language proficiency in English and isiZulu\/SeSotho\/Sepedi\/Tswana<\/li>\n<li>Fully computer literate \u2013 internet, e-mail, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid driving licence, and 3 years daily driving experience<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Efficient personal organisational skills, including time management and ability to meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative and take decisions at appropriate level.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy, honesty and openness.<\/li>\n<li>Mature and disciplined approach to work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All candidates are to send their CVs and a cover letter to <strong><a href=\"mailto:EMahlo@savethechildren.org.za\">EMahlo@savethechildren.org.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with subject \u201cHLL Project Officer\u201d no later than 14h00 Wednesday, 15\u00a0May 2019.
