Beyond Zero (BZ) is recruiting to fill the following \u00a0\u00a0positions for the AGYW Programme within the Department of Basic Education (DBE)\u00a0<strong><em>under<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the GF funding mechanism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>National Technical Officer \u2013 At Deputy Director Level 12 (DBE)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Pretoria<br \/>\n<strong>Contract duration<\/strong>:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>One year fixed term with possibility of extension for 3 years\u00a0subject to funding availability.<br \/>\n<strong>Salary<\/strong>:\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Anticipated start date<\/strong>:\u00a01 June ,2019<br \/>\n<strong>Closing date for applications<\/strong>:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>12 Noon\u00a0 ( CAT) on the 17th\u00a0\u00a0May,2019\u00a0<em>.<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Based at\u00a0 :\u00a0<\/strong>Beyond\u00a0 Zero\u00a0 \u00a0+ DBE (Pretoria\u00a0 Head\u00a0 Office)<br \/>\n<strong>Reports\u00a0To:\u00a0<\/strong>National\u00a0 Technical\u00a0 Specialist<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Description Summary<\/strong>\u00a0Seconded by Beyond Zero to the Department of Basic Education, job purpose of this Position is to\u00a0 provide technical assistance to the Department of Basic Education to manage, guide and monitor the implementation of the Global Fund Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) programme, as guided by the DBE National Policies on School Health and HIV. This technical assistance role will evolve in relation to the broader implementation of learner support as well as learner health and wellbeing programmes of the DBE, in as far as the Care and Support for Teaching and Learning (CSTL) Framework, DBE National Policy on HIV, STIs and TB as well as the Integrated School Health Policy are concerned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Work within the DBE Care and Support Services Branch responsible for the GF AGYW Programme to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the programmatic responses of the DBE to the twin epidemics of HIV and TB are consistent and aligned to the best available evidence.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical assistance to Provincial Programme Managers to develop, implement and monitor the AGYW programme package in the priority districts identified by Global Fund and DBE.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the implementation of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programme for learners in schools<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical advice and support to the Branch: Care and Support Services on the development and implementation of SRHR programmes in the basic education sector<\/li>\n<li>Liaise and co-operate with provincial education departments, national government departments, SANAC, universities, research organizations as well as NGOs and civic organizations in support of the HIV and TB programmes of the basic education sector<\/li>\n<li>Consult, share expertise for integration of GF AGYW activity plans with the broader DBE priorities and the steps of implementation amongst the critical role players\/stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the regular field monitoring visits undertaken by the Health Promotion Directorate and Technical Support Team in the office of the Branch Head to assess progress and provide solutions to improve AGYW implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NQF Level 7 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or Education is essential.<\/li>\n<li>A Master\u2019s \/Doctorate Degree\u00a0 in Public Health, Social Sciences or Education will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years\u2019 working experience in a relevant technical or professional position.
