On successful completion of an extensive experiential training programme (18\u00a0to\u00a036 months) the successful candidate will take full engineering responsibility as an Technologist\/Engineer\/Senior Technician for the onsite engineering aspects related to planning and execution of outages and routine maintenance on Eskom Power Plants.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qualification(s) :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.Tech\/BSc\/BEng Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Related Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Skills and Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willing attitude with a desire to learn<\/li>\n<li>Hands on ability<\/li>\n<li>A passion for Thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and maintenance engineering<\/li>\n<li>High level of computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects and CAD<\/li>\n<li>Effective English communication skills at levels of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Above average analytical and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Execute outages on turbo generator sets responsible for the technical aspects<\/li>\n<li>Oversee staff and manage technical work on Turbo generators<\/li>\n<li>Turbine maintenance assessments<\/li>\n<li>Fault finding and problem solving on Turbo generator systems<\/li>\n<li>Incident investigations and root cause analysis<\/li>\n<li>Develop scopes of work for Turbo generator sets and Turbo generator components<\/li>\n<li>The incumbent will be based at various sites and could be relocated at Eskom\u2019s discretion as per business requirements<\/li>\n<li>The incumbent may be required to travel nationally and internationally based on business requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\">If you have not been contacted within 28 days of the closing date of this advertisement, please accept that your application was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Note that the appointment of the candidate is at Eskom\u2019s sole discretion, taking into account factors that Eskom considers relevant including but not limited to Eskom\u2019s employment equity policy.
