{"id":46709,"date":"2019-05-16T13:55:32","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T11:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=46709"},"modified":"2019-05-16T13:56:00","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T11:56:00","slug":"sarwatch-available-employment-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sarwatch-available-employment-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"SARWatch Available Employment  Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SARWatch works for participatory, transparent and accountable utilisation of extractive resources in a manner that optimises transformative social and economic benefits and inter-generational equity, with sensitivity to environmental and human rights impacts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Intern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> As soon as possible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong> 12 months<\/p>\n<p>SARWatch is offering an internship opportunity for 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertake primary and secondary research, and assist with project implementation as required<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the director and researchers to assist with the implementation of SARWatch projects in SADC<\/li>\n<li>Assist with administrative tasks, working closely with the finance and admin office.<\/li>\n<li>Collect and organise materials for the Website<\/li>\n<li>Engage in media and publicity work for SARWatch, as required<\/li>\n<li>Engage in research writing, as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of funding proposals and with compiling project reports, as requested<\/li>\n<li>Engage in networking and raising the profile of SARWatch by participating in relevant workshops, conferences and stakeholder meetings<\/li>\n<li>Provide ad hoc assistance to the general work of SARWatch, as and when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment to SARWatch\u2019s values<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about social justice<\/li>\n<li>A degree in human rights or constitutional law, politics, international relations, economics, development, or a related field<\/li>\n<li>An interest in the impact of mining activities on communities<\/li>\n<li>An interest in resource revenue transparency<\/li>\n<li>Motivated to work independently and as a member of a small team, and a demonstrated ability to use initiative and to take a proactive approach to work<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills, including confidence to speak in public and with stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>English writing skills are essential.
