ALPS currently has projects in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, and a presence in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Project Officer\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> will be commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> 1 June or as soon as possible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contract dates:<\/strong> 1 June to 31 December 2019 (with the option to extend)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Day-to-day management and administration of project<\/li>\n<li>Ensure project is implemented timeously and according to the project objectives<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate quarterly and annual financial and project reports<\/li>\n<li>With Programme Manager and Community Outreach Manager, travel to sites for meetings with facilitators, stakeholder engagement, and site visits<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to ALPS\u2019s communications, including writing policy briefs, project reports or related communications outputs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous project officer experience preferred<\/li>\n<li>A Master\u2019s degree in International Relations, Security \/ Conflict Studies and\/or related<\/li>\n<li>A strong candidate with a mix of relevant experience and qualifications would be considered<\/li>\n<li>An interest in xenophobia, refugee and migrant rights and community resilience<\/li>\n<li>Preferred: experience in the nonprofit or development sector<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel and take on tasks in our growing organisation as required<\/li>\n<li>Must be based in Cape Town and able to work from our head office in Tokai<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit your CV and a brief motivation outlining your background, why you are interested in the role, and what experience you have in similar work to <strong><a href=\"mailto:phoebe@alpsresilience.com\">phoebe@alpsresilience.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Monday, 27 May, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALPS Resilience is a rapidly growing nonprofit organisation, working in the violence prevention, community resilience field.
