{"id":46871,"date":"2019-05-23T09:00:49","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T07:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=46871"},"modified":"2019-05-22T16:54:24","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T14:54:24","slug":"southsouthnorth-ssn-latest-job-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/southsouthnorth-ssn-latest-job-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"SouthSouthNorth (SSN) Latest job Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SouthSouthNorth is a nonprofit organisation working on projects that promote\u00a0sustainable development and address climate change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Knowledge Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of Knowledge Manager is to support the KM hub in knowledge management and communications related responsibilities for SSN programmes and SSN more broadly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Production of knowledge products<\/li>\n<li>Conceptualisation and implementation of communication and knowledge management strategies<\/li>\n<li>Writing blogs\/stories<\/li>\n<li>Format, edit and proof reading\u00a0documents<\/li>\n<li>Website updates (via a WordPress or similar back-end)<\/li>\n<li>Social media planning (via Hoot suite or similar)<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with service providers<\/li>\n<li>Tend to media organisation requests, writing and disseminating press releases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of three to four years relevant working experience (communications, journalism, public relations, marketing), preferably on policy or climate \/ environment related issues<\/li>\n<li>A thorough understanding of online media and social media<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, and planning, administration and organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn, be flexible and take on new tasks<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>Experience in engaging confidently with the media<\/li>\n<li>A high level of interest and sound knowledge of climate change and development issues<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and editing skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Database and Website software, and technology and social media friendly<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel within Africa and internationally<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest in administration and communications<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel we would also require three writing samples form applicants<\/li>\n<li>Professional experience in climate change, environment and\/or international development<\/li>\n<li>Work knowledge of French and \/ or Spanish\/ Portuguese<\/li>\n<li>A thorough understanding of delivering communications campaigns within a non-profit as well as within the international development \/ climate change arenas is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Photography skills, video skills, proficiency in desktop publishing and \/ or graphic design highly advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Relationships with both global and regional (Africa) media outlets<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of WordPress<\/li>\n<li>Experience in visual storytelling and graphic design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Complete the Google Form, upload your C.V. and Cover Letter via the following link:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1Dx7db-MWxQ6U7mINXFn-G1TeJMb860VG8rND5llquB8\/viewform?edit_requested=true\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1Dx7db-MWxQ6U7mINXFn-G1TeJMb860VG8rND5llquB8\/viewform?edit_requested=true<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 24 May, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SouthSouthNorth is a nonprofit organisation working on projects that promote\u00a0sustainable development and address climate change.
