Isibani Development Partners has been appointed by the National Department of Health to\u00a0serve as one of the GLOBAL FUND TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong> <strong>Medical Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Ekurhuleni District, Gauteng<\/p>\n<p>The Medical Officer will be placed at district level to capacitate and mentor facility-based staff to diagnose Xpert-negative TB, including clinical TB based on DCXR, childhood TB diagnosis and assessment for LTBI treatment particularly for children five years and contacts of DR-TB index patients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with districts to support all TB related activities under the grant<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that routine testing of newly diagnosed HIV positive clients for TB is conducted<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that there is routine testing of HIV positive pregnant women for TB on enrolment in antenatal care<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that testing of clients for TB using X-pert ultra and urine LAM is done<\/li>\n<li>Ensure treatment of all eligible patients for LTBI<\/li>\n<li>Ensure and support monitoring, reporting and management of adverse drug events for first line TB medicines (ADSM)<\/li>\n<li>Conduct capacity building for health care workers on clinical management, infection control and medical ethics<\/li>\n<li>Support project staff placed at facility level<\/li>\n<li>Conduct quality of care assessments<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to decentralised sites<\/li>\n<li>Ability to compile and submit monthly and quarterly technical reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MBChB degree with valid HPCSA registration<\/li>\n<li>Post graduate degree in HIV and\/or TB management will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the HIV\/AIDS and TB Programmes, health systems strengthening and capacity building<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership qualities and clinical knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years of proven experience in the field of TB control including principles, methodologies, techniques and practices in tuberculosis control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit your applications at <strong><a href=\"mailto:applications@isibani.org.za\">applications@isibani.org.za<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0subject line\u00a0\u201cMedical Officer: Ekurhuleni\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 21 June, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Isibani Development Partners is a South African-registered NGO, launched in 2011 to become a leading local technical assistance provider, systems strengthening and grants manager for health and social service in&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1353,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[89],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
