The Foundation&#8217;s mission is to address the historical legacy of apartheid, to promote and advance transformation in our country and to build a human rights culture using the Constitution as a tool.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Media and Communications Manager (including Social Media)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the job:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manage and coordinate all external communications and manage all social media platforms for FHR\u00a0\u00a0Job Objectives<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing and implementing the media and communications strategy for all FHR\u2019s programmes<\/li>\n<li>Leading the strategies for and manage FHR\u2019s social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Websites management and websites content management for the FHR<\/li>\n<li>Publications \u2013 where assigned<\/li>\n<li>Taking part in or leading project design process to ensure all FHR projects have a strong digital engagement, social media component<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong>Educational qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Tertiary qualifications in Media, Journalism or other relevant fields.<\/li>\n<li>A degree in\u00a0the above mentioned fields will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in Media, Communications\u00a0 &#8211; especially in Social Media management<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of, and commitment to, human rights especially in South African context<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of media monitoring, research and analysis, online measurement and report generation<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in providing monthly media and social media reports including coverage and trends<\/li>\n<li>Proven work experience of minimum 4-5 years in managing social media contents and strategies<\/li>\n<li>Online campaigning experience with a non-profit is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Awareness and knowledge of media landscape i.e. daily news, current affairs, television, radio<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with Photoshop and production of visual materials<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in writing and editing press releases, articles, stories and opinion pieces<\/li>\n<li>Manage and respond to media enquiries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Knowledge and Skills<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>General knowledge of design and visual trends to create visually, engaging and\u00a0appealing posts<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in social media account growth, preferably in the non-profit sector<\/li>\n<li>Experience in social media goal setting, strategy and execution<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of and commitment and sensitivity to human rights issues<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet deadlines and respond quickly and effectively under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Social media advertising skills<\/li>\n<li>Blogging knowledge and skills<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of graphic design<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of social media storytelling (use of images, video, text to tell a compelling story)<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of other local South African languages is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Important<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a fixed-term position without any expectation of renewal or permanent employment.<\/li>\n<li>FHR reserves the right
