care.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Centre Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Cape Recife, Port Elizabeth<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> The Chief Executive Officer of SANCCOB<\/p>\n<p>The Centre Manager will be responsible for the management of SANCCOB\u2019s Port Elizabeth operations.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for financial aspects of the centre, including petty cash control, procurement of supplies and stock control, including the submission of weekly reports to Head Office in Cape Town<\/li>\n<li>Overall budget management of the Port Elizabeth facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Human Resources and General Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and develop all staff at SANCCOB Port Elizabeth<\/li>\n<li>Manage the human resources functions of the centres, including leave control and disciplinary proceedings<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that SANCCOB\u2019s standing operating procedures are updated annually and adhered to<\/li>\n<li>Ensure good corporate governance is practised and continuously developed and improved<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate and represent SANCCOB at stakeholder meetings<\/li>\n<li>Manage and oversee all aspects of centre maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that a health and safety management plan is in place and adhered to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fundraising and Marketing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the merchandising and coffee shop<\/li>\n<li>Together with the Resource Development Manager create and manage a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with revenue streams including individual giving, major gifts, bequests, corporates, events, zoos and aquariums, trusts and foundations<\/li>\n<li>Maintain relationships with current donors and ensure that funding deliverables are met<\/li>\n<li>Together with the Resource Development Manager develop, implement and manage SANCCOB\u2019s marketing activities and campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate discounts and in-kind donations with suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Ensure donors feel appreciated and are updated regularly with news from the centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rehabilitation, animal welfare, conservation and research<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee all aspects of seabird rehabilitation to ensure the highest quality of care<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing and participating in seabird conservation projects<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing and participating in research initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Oil spill preparedness and response<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Preparedness and Response Manager to ensure that the Eastern Cape centre and staff are ready and able to respond to oil spills<\/li>\n<li>Represent SANCCOB in discussions around oil bunkering in Algoa Bay and any other issue seen as a threat to seabirds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure quality educational programmes are offered<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the development and conducting of interactive public tours of the SANCCOB centre<\/li>\n<li>Develop the professional network between SANCCOB and other like-minded organisations<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the SANCCOB volunteer and internship programme in the Eastern Cape<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate work activities with the SANCCOB Education Department in the Western Cape<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate and maintain relationships with volunteer organisations and tour operators to further the reach of SANCCOB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the construction of a new rehabilitation pool<\/li>\n<li>Co-operate and work together with the other departments and staff at SANCCOB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree\/diploma<\/li>\n<li>A post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five\u00a0years&#8217; working experience in general management<\/li>\n<li>Experience in seabird rehabilitation, natural science, education, marketing, basic maintenance, and fundraising an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Strong people management and development skills<\/li>\n<li>Work ethic and a positive attitude<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of the non-profit sector<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Presentation and negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>A strong command of English as a working language is essential<\/li>\n<li>Valid Code 8 drivers licence<\/li>\n<li>Compassion and love for seabirds<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about conservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To
