The charity has been working in Africa for more than 15 years, in partnership with local organisations.<\/p>\n<p>It has focused largely on issues surrounding HIV\/AIDS and has facilitated significant improvements in access to treatment and quality of care throughout southern Africa. The organisation is currently implementing a project called &#8216;Enable&#8217; in the Eastern Cape that trains local women as Mentor Mothers to deliver child and maternal health interventions at the community level, as well as overseeing some smaller-scale programmes in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance Manager <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong> This is a part-time, consultancy basis (three to four days per month)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review the book-keeping on an ongoing basis to keep the records accurate and up-to-date<\/li>\n<li>Review monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring balances reflect split between unrestricted and restricted funds<\/li>\n<li>Check any necessary accruals and prepayments<\/li>\n<li>Review the balance sheet for unreconciled\/unexpected balances<\/li>\n<li>Review cash flow requirements by project<\/li>\n<li>Prepare\/review draft management accounts and preparing a commentary<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with tax regulations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate tax receipts are issued to donors where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Help to prepare project budgets and forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Pull together the annual organisational budget and forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Prepare draft statutory accounts for year-end and liaising with the auditors<\/li>\n<li>Ensure there are strong financial controls in place<\/li>\n<li>Review banking arrangements and controls over payments<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a finance manual and documenting all appropriate systems and procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification<\/li>\n<li>Recognised three years\u2019 Bachelors Accounting or Finance Degree<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years\u2019 post-article experience in a financial management role<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in an NGO\/NPC mandatory.
