{"id":47474,"date":"2019-06-20T12:30:24","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T10:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=47474"},"modified":"2019-06-20T13:03:03","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T11:03:03","slug":"the-dg-murray-trust-latest-employment-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-dg-murray-trust-latest-employment-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"The DG Murray Trust Latest Employment Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The DG Murray Trust on behalf of the Lesedi Solar Park Trust (LSPT) is seeking to appoint a Community Project Coordinator who will be based anywhere within the 50km radius from where the Lesedi Solar PV Project is located, Groenwater.<\/p>\n<p>LSPT\u2019s goal is to break the transmission of intergenerational poverty by supporting the development of human capital throughout the course of a person\u2019s life.\u00a0 Our strategic goals for the communities where we work is:<\/p>\n<li>Building a culture of aspiration,<\/li>\n<li>Implementing effective human focused development programmes, and<\/li>\n<li>Ultimately, embedding the work of the LSPT within the existing ecosystem.<\/li>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Community Project Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Postmasburg or Danielskuil or within 50km radius from Groenwater, Northern Cape<\/p>\n<p>This job requires extensive travel within the Free State to various Trust-supported projects and beyond in support of project development and implementation. The position reports directly to the Partnerships Lead at the DG Murray Trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The role of a Community Project Coordinator is multi-fold and in summary includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being the face of the Trust by representing the Trust on various platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Community mobiliser and motivator behind a common vision;<\/li>\n<li>Go-getter and able to seize opportunities that advance our strategy, and<\/li>\n<li>Providing project management oversight to all our programmes on the ground.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>High-level summary of key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>With Partnerships Lead, jointly develop a framework, approach and mechanism for coordinating and managing the work of the Trust,<\/li>\n<li>Build and manage relationships with a range of community stakeholders, particularly Implementing Partners, local municipality and various community structures,<\/li>\n<li>Build relationships with potential funders of new projects e.g. other IPPs and Community Trusts,<\/li>\n<li>Plan, coordinate and facilitate monthly check-in meetings with and amongst Implementing Partners and Community Trustees to increase impact through combined efforts,<\/li>\n<li>Work with existing Implementing Partners to strengthen their implementation plans, or to identify new opportunities,<\/li>\n<li>Co-create communications products that draw on the implementation experience of partners and research\/evidence, and that highlight key learnings and insights from the field, and<\/li>\n<li>Engage monthly with local media e.g. community radio stations and local newspapers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Professional and personal traits we looking for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A positive attitude and problem-solving mind-set,<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be fair and objective in all interactions,<\/li>\n<li>Mature approach to relationships and relationship building, incl. managing different power dynamics,<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple, diverse projects simultaneously and to task-shift between administrative and project work,<\/li>\n<li>A fast-learner, who is able to get up to speed with new fields of work quickly and effectively,<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently, with a high-level of self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals,<\/li>\n<li>Ability to get things done efficiently and effectively,<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills,<\/li>\n<li>Ability to connect ideas, people, and opportunities, and<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to producing excellent work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To qualify you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driver\u2019s licence and own vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>A relevant degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 3-5 years\u2019 experience managing small to large-scale community development projects.<\/li>\n<li>Full range of project and financial management skills including planning, monitoring implementation, budgeting and reporting \u2013 able to put in place systems for this.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated written, presentation, communication and organisational skills in English.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse team and manage multi-stakeholder relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Some experience in working with donors\/CSI partners would be useful.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in either Setswana, isiXhosa and\/or Afrikaans is desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Must live in and around the community in which the Trust works (Postmasburg or Danielskuil or surrounding areas) or be willing to re-locate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a\u00a01 year contract\u00a0subject to renewal based on performance and available funds, and the position is based in\u00a0Postmasburg or Danielskuil or within 50km radius from Groenwater, Northern Cape.<br \/>\nSalary is negotiable based on skills and experience.
