The current staff complement is approx. 130, the majority of whom are nursing and professional therapy staff with HR, Operations and Fund development as support services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: CEO<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the position is\u00a0to manage the implementation of the Home\u2019s strategy, ensuring that the vision and objectives of the Home are achieved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategic planning<\/li>\n<li>Create a vision that is singular and that provides unity and inspiration<\/li>\n<li>Preparation and presentation of 5-year strategic plans for Board consideration and approval.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the implementation of the Home\u2019s strategy as approved by the Board.<\/li>\n<li>Report to the Board on the implementation of the Home\u2019s strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Research best practice models and keep up to date with latest developments in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and develop the relationship with the Dept. of Health and other government departments, e.g., the Dept of Social Development and the Dept of Education.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting and Board relationship<\/li>\n<li>Participate in Board meeting and other Board committees.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports and meeting packs for the Board, Remuneration and Nomination Committee, and Risk and Audit Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and\/or edit reports and articles for public dissemination.<\/li>\n<li>Human resources:<\/li>\n<li>Complete recruitment, appointment, retention and management of a strong, appropriately skilled, capable management team with the knowledge and experience to implement the strategic vision and plans of the Home (with written approval of the Board).<\/li>\n<li>Complete recruitment, appointment, retention and management of strong, appropriately skilled and capable staff.<\/li>\n<li>Performance management of direct reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure HR practices are updated and in line with relevant legal requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all managers adhere to the HR practices.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Together with Finance Manager, prepare annual budgets for approval by the Board.<\/li>\n<li>Together with other members of the management team explore avenues for raising additional funding.<\/li>\n<li>Be accountable for the successful financial management of the Home.<\/li>\n<li>Governance and policy development<\/li>\n<li>Ensure sound financial management processes.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the monthly management accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that operational policies and procedures are updated and adhered to in all areas of the Home.<\/li>\n<li>Relationship with the Pallottine Order<\/li>\n<li>Provide the link between the Home and the Provincial Head of the Order by ensuring continual communication and opportunities for placement of Pallottine Sisters within the operations of the Home.<\/li>\n<li>Donor relations and public awareness<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Resources Development Manager by opening doors and creating opportunities for building new relationships\/business partnerships.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the public reputation and image.<\/li>\n<li>Relationship with the School<\/li>\n<li>Attend the school governing Board meetings representing the interests of the Home and ensuring that the educational needs of the children are met.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Qualification and experience:<\/li>\n<li>The position requires a thorough understanding and adherence to the \u201cChristian Faith \u201d<\/li>\n<li>Relevant Tertiary qualification in health or allied sector<\/li>\n<li>Post Grad qualification would be preferable<\/li>\n<li>5-10 years\u2019 experience in leading a health service provider NGO<\/li>\n<li>Competencies:<\/li>\n<li>Building and maintaining collaborative relationships and partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Gaining \u00a0commitment<\/li>\n<li>Strategic leadership<\/li>\n<li>Strategic decision making<\/li>\n<li>Leading and guiding others<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication<\/li>\n<li>Business acumen<\/li>\n<li>Innovation and facilitating change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send a full CV and motivational letter to the HR Manager at <strong><a href=\"mailto:hr@stjosephshome.org.za\">hr@stjosephshome.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 26 July, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The St Joseph\u2019s Home is a paediatric intermediate healthcare facility providing holistic medical and rehabilitation care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
