{"id":47674,"date":"2019-06-28T15:27:14","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T13:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=47674"},"modified":"2019-06-27T15:28:52","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T13:28:52","slug":"power-africa-off-grid-roject-paop-recent-job-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/power-africa-off-grid-roject-paop-recent-job-opening.html","title":{"rendered":"Power Africa Off-Grid roject (PAOP) Recent Job Opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Power Africa Off-Grid project (PAOP), is a four-year USAID-funded project to promote off-grid electrification in 18 African countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communications Specialist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Pretoria<br \/>\n<strong>Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Communications Specialist will be responsible for implementing a multi-year communications strategy to highlight the impact of PAOP activities, raise public awareness, and enhance the achievement of PAOP objectives. This position will be based in Pretoria, South Africa and report to the Deputy Chief of Party.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with technical advisors to write success stories, lessons learned, and activity reports.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the resources, key audiences, messages, and communication channels.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure USAID and project branding and marking guidelines are adhered to.<\/li>\n<li>Develop other communication tools (newsletters, pamphlets, project briefs) as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Work in coordination with the Power Africa Coordinator\u2019s Office Development Outreach and Communications team.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media outreach campaigns to raise awareness of the project<\/li>\n<li>Provide news releases to radio, television, and electronic media.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement project hosted events such as strategic in-country roundtables, webinars, and external conference presentations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements and\u00a0<\/strong><strong>preferred skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree plus 10 years or a Master\u2019s degree plus 6 years\u2019 experience in the media or communications industry.<\/li>\n<li>A degree in journalism, public administration, international affairs or a closely related field.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with USAID or other major donors preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent coordination and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communications skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qualified applicants should submit their CV and three references to <strong><a href=\"mailto:paoprecruitment@powerafrica-offgrid.org\">paoprecruitment@powerafrica-offgrid.org<\/a><\/strong>.
