We exist for the purpose of facilitating access, sharing information, building capacity, raising awareness, enhancing reach and impact, and linking people and organisations through the use of ICTs in Southern Africa.<\/p>\n<p>SANGONeT&#8217;s strategic focus areas include Information and Knowledge Bank, Capacity building, ICT Advocacy and Special Project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Civil Society, Information and Knowledge Bank Intern to be based in Braamfontein<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Title:<\/strong> Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 12 months<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> Immediately<br \/>\n<strong>Stipend \/ Allowance:<\/strong> R4 500<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Desktop research;<\/li>\n<li>Sourcing of content;<\/li>\n<li>Communication with NGOs and other development stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Updating content on the\u00a0NGO Pulse Portal;<\/li>\n<li>Updating SANGONeT social media platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Support SANGONeT on queries relating to usability and display on the online platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other tasks assigned;<\/li>\n<li>Develop and publish a weekly online newsletter;<\/li>\n<li>Receive, edit and post vacancies, opportunities, events and NGO services;<\/li>\n<li>Market all services offered by the unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate student, who has either just completed her\/his studies or is working on her\/his final research project, in one of the following areas: communication, social science etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Keen interest in NGO and civil society issues;<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and oral English language skills;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of social media (i.e. Facebook and Twitter)<\/li>\n<li>High level of computer literacy (MS Office);<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work independently or in a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position provides an opportunity to learn about SANGONeT and the South African NGO Sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit a motivation letter, CV and short writing sample to <strong><a href=\"mailto:dan@sangonet.org.za\">dan@sangonet.org.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>quoting \u201cSANGONeT Civil Society, Information and Knowledge Bank Intern\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Thursday, 4 July, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANGONeT&#8217;s mission is to support the effective use of ICTs in Southern African CSOs by providing quality services and initiatives.
