pivotal in the strategic development and success of helping street-affected children for over three decades.<\/p>\n<p>As a collaborative network, the WCSCF works in partnership with a variety of organisations, civil society, NGOs and government departments to empower, integrate and coordinate an approach to assisting vulnerable children and children living, working and begging on the street.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Forum Coordinator\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:<\/strong>\u00a0R16 500 per month + 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0cheque<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the position is\u00a0the care and protection of children, and to coordinate the Forum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administration:<\/li>\n<li>Draw up Agendas and Minutes of all meetings<\/li>\n<li>Manage budget, income and expenditure related to the role<\/li>\n<li>Quarterly reporting on current trends relevant to street children sector<\/li>\n<li>Maintain filing system for the WCSCF<\/li>\n<li>Manage and maintain the network database (with assistance)<\/li>\n<li>Attend to general correspondence and enquiries of the WCSCF<\/li>\n<li>Networking and Membership Liaison and Development<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with existing members of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Arrange and participate in role players\/stakeholders\u2019 meetings<\/li>\n<li>Maintain existing local child protection sub-forums<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the establishment of regional alliances when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Visit schools in hotspot areas and present on the reporting of abused and neglected children to principals and educators<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and expand the WCSCF footprint with services to vulnerable children throughout the province, through the encouragement of continued collaboration within the sector and intersectorally.<\/li>\n<li>Support and Mentorship to Unregistered Drop In Centres (DIC)<\/li>\n<li>Provide support and mentorship based on the Norms and Standards Practice Guidelines for DICs in the Children\u2019s Act to unregistered \u2018drop in centres\u2019 in the WC.<\/li>\n<li>Sign a Mentorship Agreement with unregistered DIC\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Provide relevant services and set up peer support mechanisms<\/li>\n<li>Identify common training needs and develop training plans.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the provision of training (logistics and planning)<\/li>\n<li>Encourage DICs to register their organisation<\/li>\n<li>Encourage DSD to register new Drop in Centres in order to qualify for funding<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy, Networking and Liaison with Civil Society and Government<\/li>\n<li>Promote sector and highlight the needs of street-affected children<\/li>\n<li>Identify policies and implementation plans relevant to the sector<\/li>\n<li>Advocate for the rights of vulnerable and street-affected children while understanding the challenges of getting and keeping children off the street, as well as the issues facing service delivery in the sector<\/li>\n<li>Hold organisations and government accountable for their roles and mandates<\/li>\n<li>Engage with sectors that impact the safety of children i.e. Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Represent WCSCF on provincial and\/or regional forums when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Draft responses to government proposals related to the sector<\/li>\n<li>Continue developing a positive approach towards street-affected children and be able to respond to negative and\/or emotive or damaging media with professionalism<\/li>\n<li>Fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Develop the WCSCF\u2019s funding base<\/li>\n<li>Write and submit fundraising proposals to potential funders<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSW or BsocSci (HONS)<\/li>\n<li>Valid Registration with the SACSSP<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Strong Administration skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in MS Office, Email, Social Media, Mailchimp campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Excellent public speaking skills (English medium)<\/li>\n<li>Strong relationship building skills (networking)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>An excellent work ethic and professional conduct<\/li>\n<li>A highly self-motivated, peoples-person who is passionate about care of children<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0A reasonable knowledge of the Children\u2019s Act will be favourable.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work
