{"id":47947,"date":"2019-07-09T14:23:36","date_gmt":"2019-07-09T12:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=47947"},"modified":"2019-07-08T14:51:29","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T12:51:29","slug":"sonke-gender-justice-recent-job-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sonke-gender-justice-recent-job-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Sonke Gender Justice Recent Job Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With offices in Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga in South Africa, and Kampala in Uganda, Sonke works globally, and especially across Africa, to strengthen government, civil society and citizen capacity to promote gender equality, prevent domestic and sexual violence and reduce the spread and impact of HIV and AIDS.<\/p>\n<p>In this way the organisation contributes to the development of societies in which men, women, youth and children can enjoy equitable, healthy and happy relationships that contribute to the development of just and democratic societies (see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.genderjustice.org.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.genderjustice.org.za<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: <\/strong><strong>Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sonke is looking for a committed, suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring and Evaluating activities<\/li>\n<li>Training and capacity development<\/li>\n<li>Strategic networking<\/li>\n<li>Information and data support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monitoring and evaluating activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Develop M&amp;E tools and resources for use by Sonke and MenEngage programmes staff;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the data collection of monthly &amp; quarterly reports from sub\u2013grantees;<\/li>\n<li>Manage data collation, analysis, reporting and dissemination to internal and external stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with data management processes and management of M&amp;E systems;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of the M&amp;E standard operating procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Review and recommend further improvement of logical\/M&amp;E frameworks including the theory of change;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of output and outcome indicators;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and report on overall progress on achievement of results on a quarterly basis;<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to management;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist in preparing relevant reports;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the evaluation of project impact;<\/li>\n<li>Support the maintenance within the data management system &amp; make recommendations for development;<\/li>\n<li>Develop and strengthen M&amp;E tools for project personnel and support them with sub-grantees;<\/li>\n<li>Attend M&amp;E Workshops with regional partners;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in routine data quality assessments; and<\/li>\n<li>Support organisational M&amp;E processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Training and capacity development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop the capacity of Sonke staff and MenEngage partners;<\/li>\n<li>Support the close out process with MenEngage partners including those implementing MEA funded projects; and<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and report on technical assistance provided to partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Strategic networking<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and collaborate with strategic partners;<\/li>\n<li>Support knowledge sharing and reflection with strategic partners; and<\/li>\n<li>Attend key meetings and conferences on Sonke\u2019s regional work and MEA network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Information and data support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare strategic briefs and other resource materials (e.g. presentations, information packs) to be used by internal and external stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Provide information on strategic learning arising out of programme interventions that require external sharing and feeds into advocacy effort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience and educational qualifications\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Research, M&amp;E or related field;<\/li>\n<li>Honours Degree or master\u2019s degree would be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in the design and implementation of M&amp;E in development projects;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in collaborative and team research projects on gender, violence, and HIV and AIDS in Africa, preferably including work with men and boys;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in contributing to the overall strategic planning of an organisation;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated strong monitoring and evaluation skills, including planning\/participating in evaluations;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training and capacity building including offering remote support to MEA partners;<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in analysing data using statistical software; and<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of institutional donors and experience in supporting the development of funding proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication skills (written and oral);<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to work as a team leader and as a team member within multidisciplinary teams<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving skills;<\/li>\n<li>The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Analytical and abstract reasoning skills;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organization skills;<\/li>\n<li>Relationship building skills with an ability to establish rapport and credibility with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Results oriented and drive to produce high quality work;<\/li>\n<li>Self-management, by demonstrating integrity and credibility, leading by example, committed, knowledgeable and confident of the job functions and superior communication skills;
