They are activist lawyers who help communities and civil society organisations in South Africa realise our Constitutional right to a healthy environment by advocating and litigating for environmental justice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Executive Assistant to the Executive Director and Deputy<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Assistant will provide assistance and administrative support to the Executive Director and Deputy Director and manage the Executive Director\u2019s and Deputy Director\u2019s programmes and administration.Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating and supporting the Executive Director\u2019s and Deputy Director\u2019s speaking, conferencing and media engagements<\/li>\n<li>Managing the Executive Director\u2019s and Deputy Director\u2019s email by prioritising those needing responses, drafting responses re scheduling and delegation to colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Executive Director and Deputy Director with preparation for board, management and internal meetings<\/li>\n<li>Drafting documents and communication as needed<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with stakeholders, including partners, clients, board members and the media<\/li>\n<li>Driving all travel preparation requirements for the Executive Director and Deputy Director<\/li>\n<li>Providing ad-hoc support for personal administration where required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0Executive Assistant\u00a0must meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant degree\/diploma<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years\u2019 experience in a similar role<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the legal profession and\/or NGO sector will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Highly organised, self-reliant, good problem-solving, results-oriented, multi-tasker with superior administration skills and excellent judgment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent networking skills and strong capabilities in building support amongst a wide range of stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to remain calm under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with both external stakeholders (partners, funders, government and industry representatives) and team members<\/li>\n<li>Advanced computer literacy skills<\/li>\n<li>Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritise<\/li>\n<li>Excellent track record in planning, project management and meeting deadlines<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to high quality client service<\/li>\n<li>A passion for social and environmental justice<\/li>\n<li>A sensitivity to social issues and the needs of communities impact by environmental degradation and injustice<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to diversity, inclusion and transformation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Centre for Environmental Rights (CER) strives to reflect South Africa\u2019s racial, cultural and gender diversity within its staff complement.\u00a0Candidates from historically disadvantaged or marginalised groups are strongly encouraged to apply for this post.<\/p>\n<p>The salary range is R300 000 to R400 000 (total cost to company) and the salary offered will be dependent on factors that include the qualifications, level of expertise and experience of the successful candidate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your CV, letter of motivation and complete the AA bio summary form in MS word format to:<strong><a href=\"mailto:data@actionappointments.co.za\">data@actionappointments.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>\u200bFriday 02nd August 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Environmental Rights is a non-profit organisation and law clinic based in Cape Town, South Africa.
