At Acorn Education, we aim to transform the lives of learners across our collaboration schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>South Africa<br \/>\nThe purpose of this position is to manage the finances of Acorn Education as well as assisting with finances for the other entities we support.<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:\u00a0<\/strong>R40\u00a0000 per month<br \/>\n<strong>Starting date:<\/strong> As soon as possible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the organisation\u2019s own and related finances. The precise areas of responsibility for this post will be agreed based around your skills and the needs of the organisation, but it is anticipated that you will be able to contribute in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaising with management on a regular basis to provide feedback related to all financial aspects of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and maintaining creditor reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Engaging with auditors and ensuring that all supporting documentation is adequately retained.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring all spending is aligned to donor Service Level Agreements and budgets<\/li>\n<li>Preparing monthly management accounts<\/li>\n<li>Presenting results to management with meaningful explanations of material budget variances<\/li>\n<li>Bringing to the attention of management material liabilities including contingent liabilities<\/li>\n<li>Distributing project accounts to project managers and obtaining explanations for any material deviations from budget<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining regular monthly finance meetings with management to review the organisational and project financial status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor degree in accounting with at least 5 years\u2019 commercial experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong inter-personal skills to liaise with various stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written<\/li>\n<li>Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint<\/li>\n<li>A strong sense of responsibility and urgency and the ability to deliver regularly and on time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our Values:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agile, our agility allows us to adapt and respond to what is most important at a specific time to achieve our mission.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Can do\u2019,\u00a0 every member of our team is equipped with a \u201ccan do\u2019 attitude \u2013 enabling us to reach our own high expectation and those of our schools, teachers and learners.<\/li>\n<li>Optimistic,\u00a0we believe that a\u00a0grateful mindset\u00a0leads to an optimistic and favourable view of life.<\/li>\n<li>Resilient,\u00a0our journey will not be an easy one.
