At Acorn Education, we aim to transform the lives of our learners and we do whatever it takes to make this dream a reality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Data analyst<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to\u00a0provide the Acorn Education with the insights we need to continually improve learner results and our support programmes to our schools.\u200bBuild and maintain various dashboards to assess learner performance by schoolAcorn Education currently supports three no-fee schools in Cape Town and surrounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The precise areas of responsibility for this post will be agreed based around your skills and the needs of the organisation, but it is anticipated that you will be able to:<\/li>\n<li>Continuously measure performance and assess progress to goals<\/li>\n<li>Combine data from various data sources and bring them together for analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Interpret data, analyse results, identify and interpret trends enabling continuous improvement in our school improvement approach<\/li>\n<li>Use data visualization, reports and data-driven presentations to present digestible conclusions and recommendations to Acorn Education\u2019s senior management team and school leaders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A university degree (or equivalent) is essential<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of at least 3 years working experience<\/li>\n<li>High level of computer proficiency including\u00a0Excel, Access, Word, Power Point<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and pro-actively, and as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage analyse routine data and provide programme feedback<\/li>\n<li>Great interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Verbal and written fluency in English<\/li>\n<li>No criminal record- candidates will be required to undergo a criminal background check<\/li>\n<li>Own transport is essential<\/li>\n<li>A passion for improving education outcomes in previously disadvantaged schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and personal competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analytical and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Able to think creatively outside the box<\/li>\n<li>Attentive to detail and passionate about data<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manipulate a lot of different data, from various resources, and convert to meaningful information useful for decision making<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well in a team as well as individually<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast paced, pressurized environment<\/li>\n<li>A strong attention to detail, accountability and execution<\/li>\n<li>A team player with good interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Control and efficiency with prioritization of tasks<\/li>\n<li>Able to multi-task and work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to use initiative and be proactive<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy and reliability with a high level of attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to accurately estimate work required on tasks, prioritise work and deliver to deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our Values:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agile, our agility allows us to adapt and respond to what is most important at a specific time to achieve our mission.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Can do\u2019,\u00a0 every member of our team is equipped with a \u201ccan do\u2019 attitude \u2013 enabling us to reach our own high expectation and those of our schools, teachers and learners.<\/li>\n<li>Optimistic,\u00a0we believe that a\u00a0grateful mindset\u00a0leads to an optimistic and favourable view of life.<\/li>\n<li>Resilient,\u00a0our journey will not be an easy one.
