{"id":48612,"date":"2019-08-15T12:35:32","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T10:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=48612"},"modified":"2019-08-15T12:35:32","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T10:35:32","slug":"the-adonis-musati-project-amp-recent-employment-opportunity-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-adonis-musati-project-amp-recent-employment-opportunity-2.html","title":{"rendered":"The Adonis Musati Project (AMP) Recent Employment Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Adonis Musati Project (AMP) is an NGO based in Wynberg working with refugees and asylum seekers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Accountant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Finance Manager<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsiblities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents in accordance with funder\/donor requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Full responsibility for accounts to trial balance level<\/li>\n<li>End of month trial balance review and sign off including ad hoc journal entries<\/li>\n<li>Review of all transactions captured by bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and correct donor allocation<\/li>\n<li>Donor management \u2013 allocating expenses to donors accurately, managing donor budgets and updating regularly<\/li>\n<li>Petty cash and operational advance disbursement and reconciliation.<\/li>\n<li>Process payments timeously and accurately through Standard Bank Business Online and Standard Bank Instant Money adhering to funder bank mandates<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for all tax matters \u2013 PAYE, UIF, VAT, COIDA and Income Tax<\/li>\n<li>Full payroll function from recording travel expenses and other ad hoc items to preparing payslips, making salary payments and monthly reporting to regulatory authorities<\/li>\n<li>Assist with preparation of management, donor and board reports and ad hoc analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain finance files to ensure that they are audit ready \u2013 for funders and external auditors.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating annual audit, liaising with auditors and audit preparation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant BCom or similar accounting qualification<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years experience in an accounting role<\/li>\n<li>Experience and knowledge of working with donor funds will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of accounting software packages essential (SAGE One an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Excel skills required<\/li>\n<li>Sound understanding of VAT, PAYE and company statutory requirements<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, organised and accurate<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently but be a teamplayer, to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time<\/li>\n<li>Eager and willing to add to their knowledge base and skills<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to embrace the organisations culture and ethos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please email your CV to <strong><a href=\"mailto:accounts@adonismusatiproject.org\">accounts@adonismusatiproject.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Please put \u2018Financial Accountant\u2019 as the subject for your application.<\/p>\n<p>When applying please put your intro \/ cover letter in the body of the email and include the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why you would be interested in this role<\/li>\n<li>Current salary or salary expectation<\/li>\n<li>Notice period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your application will not be considered if any of the above information is missing.
